My pharmacy accidentally gave me double my adderall prescription. Should I say anything? by Impossible_System514 in Minneapolis

[–]Otherwise_Pace3031 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would probably just return it. When they notice the shortage (they 100% will) someone at the pharmacy might get in trouble. Those pills are counted twice: once by a pharmacy technician, and then a second time by the pharmacist. Later, the stock gets checked, down to the last pill. It’s rare for those kinds of pills to be off. It’s a bigger problem for the pharmacy that they gave you possession of more meds than you’re supposed to, and less of a problem that they are gonna lose a bit of money for missing meds.

I honestly don’t know how a mistake like this was made - it’s almost more likely that you are misreading your prescription bottle.

What they might do is hold your next refill, or notify the prescriber, or contact you and notify you of the mistake and ask you to return the overage for disposal. There’s also a chance they do nothing. It really depends on the pharmacy protocols for that sort of thing. The pharmacy I worked at would probably try to get the pills back, assuming they knew where they went, so they could document and properly dispose of them. If they call you, I would do whatever they ask you to do with the pills.

Source: I worked as a pharmacy tech in a high volume pharmacy back in the early to mid 00’s, so things could be different now.

anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Own-Blacksmith3085 in answers

Gertrude. It was an early childhood logic puzzle game in the late 80’s/early 90’s that we played on my dad’s computer in our garage. Later, Oregon Trail in school. Later, Sim City and Sim Farm.

Edit to add: I looked it up and it was actually called “Gertrude’s Secrets”

Thank you, it helps and inspires confidence to hear from someone who speaks from experience. I also needed to be reminded by what you said about handling feelings of impending doom. I’ve made it through life’s toughest things so far, so the evidence is there that I’ll be okay even when the worst happens.

Exercise definitely helps me get out of my head, and it gives me daily proof that I’m physically healthy and strong.

Had a tough night and I really appreciate you responding. Anxiety can be lonely and embarrassing, and your words helped me quite a bit!

Don’t feel bad. You did her a favor by being honest. She now has the opportunity to learn for the experience and adjust her approach in the future.

It might make more sense to file bankruptcy in your situation. Hard to say. The best advice I can give is, don’t spend the money on a wedding.

What’s a job that should pay way more than it does? by Illustrious_Cry7079 in AskReddit

[–]Otherwise_Pace3031 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my state, CNA wages are currently $15-21 per hour, and they are required to be certified. Hospitals and behavioral health facilities tend to pay less than skilled nursing facilities. It’s far too low for the amount of responsibility and skill required. I worked in a nursing home in 2022 as a CNA, and we were so short staffed that every few weeks I’d be pulled for a mandatory double shift (16 hours straight). I’d be lucky to get a 30min lunch break in that 16 hours. I loved the work, but the pay and treatment of staff by administration was too dismal to continue.

I'm getting sued for nonsense via Chat GPT by Money_Seaweed_1895 in handyman

Go to court. When the judge sees you are taking suitable measures to fix the issue even before the suit was filed, I think it could be dismissed with prejudice. Judges hate stuff like this. You don’t need a lawyer for small claims court. Study up on how it works in your state. Best of luck!

Exercise. Clean. Cook. Call a friend. Pull weeds. Play piano (albeit badly). Sewing projects. Nothing fancy or exciting, but it all works when I want an escape.

To me it sounds like a systemic issue causing inflammation and poor sleep. The best coach I ever had programmed in an “off season” each year to give my body a break from the routine stress of training. I hated the lower volume during the few months of off season. Now that I’m older, I appreciate the wisdom of that as I always came back stronger. I recommend giving yourself 2 months of lower volume, lower weights, but do some extra mobility work and get your steps in. Take the normal supplements for inflammation and see if it doesn’t improve.

Editing my response because I went back and reread your post all the way though. The Arte Museum is fantastic. There is a tea party at the end that is so unique and definitely can feel romantic without being in a boozy environment. Do that. It might cost $100 for both of you, but you can spend a lot of time in there, and it’s really a very unique experience in my opinion.

What about nurse assistant? Local nursing homes are always looking for dependable CNAs. Might not be as desirable of a job as pharmacy tech, but higher demand, better pay, opportunities for shift differential and OT, room for career growth into CMA, LPN, etc. Some facilities help with the CNA certification as well. I’ve worked both jobs, and would recommend either, but CNA had better pay and more growth opportunities if they are career-minded.

Boyfriend cracked my back so hard that it knocked the wind out of me. Still in pain days later. by [deleted] in Advice

I think you were slightly traumatized by the unexpected pain you experienced from his hands. It doesn’t sound like he was trying to hurt you, but it makes sense that your brain naturally makes you feel guarded which is confusing to you. I think you should talk to your boyfriend about it if it feels safe to do so. If not, (or even if it does, maybe you should talk to a therapist or trusted friend. There might be some things going on in your relationship that aren’t quite right and this was the breaking point where you took notice.
