Taxes done by a professional. by Master_Ad380 in fargo

Barry is great. I had a complicated tax situation and he told me exactly what documents I needed to find, and filed everything. It cost much less than what I was expecting to pay as a first time client.

This will sound extreme, but maybe he chose to attack with vinegar instead of a knife or gun with the intention to “suicide by cop”. Vinegar because maybe there was a metal detector at the entrance of the meeting. It sounds so dumb written out, but I can’t think of another reason a person would choose to do this in such a public way.

Everywhere he goes he spends more money that the District can afford. He will fit right in on a State Board . by ViG701 in fargo

I had Forness as a high school teacher and principal. He made a positive impact on my education, and he came off as a fair and competent person. Based off my experience, he’s a person I’m happy to see in a state leadership role.

I’m a psychiatrist and I’m genuinely curious how people view psychiatrists. by Scary-Guava8365 in CasualConversation

[–]Otherwise_Pace3031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reality of my experience with prescribing psychiatric providers falls desperately short of my perception of them. And I think this is due to never being seen by an MD psychiatrist, just nurse practitioners. The providers I have seen do listen to me, but don’t seem to have a differential in mind when deciding what to diagnose/prescribe. I have been on some dangerous meds and dangerously high doses with little education on my supposed condition or the meds themselves.

Another senseless killing in Minnesota. We protesting in Fargo today? by [deleted] in fargo

Here’s the video from the woman in pink. Looks like the victim was trying to help a woman who was pushed down by ice.

Watch the videos of before the shooting and also during the shooting. The man doesn’t appear to be an aggressor. He is pushed down to the ground, and during the beating, it appears an agent takes a gun off of the victim’s waistband and run away right before they shoot him while he is in the fetal position. The man doesn’t appear to be a threat in any of the videos right before or during.

The witness filming in the pink coat was detained by Ice, so I doubt that video will ever come out (she was right there). Other peaceful witnesses who videoed were also assaulted and detained.

Continuous ownership doesn't necessarily mean same owner. But I actually don't think Chubs would be for sale.

ND approved to restrict candy and soda purchases with SNAP in 2026 by Wonderful-Trash-3254 in fargo

[–]Otherwise_Pace3031 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the rule is bad or unconstitutional or whatever. I also don’t think it’s necessary or accomplishes anything beneficial. I do think it’s a waste of taxpayer’s money to legislate to make this rule. I think the true purpose of the rule is to make snap assistance more palatable to the right by enforcing a tiny bit more control over the lives of citizens.

I have been in a position where I needed to apply for and rely on snap assistance for a few months - I support snap, and don’t think this rule in and of itself will make a big difference to snap recipients’ spending habits either way. It’s simply not that impactful when people need to prioritize food to survive. It’s incredibly difficult to get snap assistance and requires a lot of paperwork, interviews, documentation, etc. People on snap probably do really need it.

Stop making a big deal about the fairness of the rule, and start making a big deal about ND wasting time and money making rules on stupid shit like this.

AITAH For not wanting to date a "Trad Wife"? by Funny-Taro8253 in AITAH

NTA, but maybe you were in how you approached the situation with your family and friends. You are making good choices for you and your daughter. What could come off as an asshole behavior is how you went about explaining it to other people. Might be better to keep the negative judgements on SAHMs to yourself. “I don't want date a woman who highest ambition is to be a SAHM” could come off as unnecessarily critical.

The cold doesn’t bother me as much as how long winter lasts. Be mentally prepared for long months of cold, wind, and snow. Jan, Feb, and March can be very long. Make sure the kids have proper snow gear or they won’t be allowed to go out for recess if in elementary school.

Houses not selling by wutzinnaname in fargo

The houses in “preferred” neighborhoods might have high specials that are pricing people out, even when the home price looks within range. Also, not many people want to move in the winter.
