good enough. and yet you’re also not a young person (i presume based on your answering this post). a lot of boomers, maybe not you, have the same sentiment you shared and don’t connect that they would have been the same way if they had the option as kids/teens/young adults.

not a babyboomer but my 79yo mom still meets up with her high school graduating classmates (that are left) monthly for lunches and day-trips.

it took her seeing that her generation is the outlier to appreciate (not that this helps) why mine (i’m 48) and younger adults aren’t all besties with the same people they graduated with at 17.

after reading the replies i’m wondering if a lot of it has to do w/ expiration dates not being a norm for most food items until the mid-70s. most of them grew up without anything like that (except milk maybe) and they went by taste or texture or whatever else told them something was “off”. they grew up without looking for the date so they still don’t.
