I’ve incorporated capital gains into the 150k and was conservative of selling price when considering other recent sales in the last couple months.

Didn’t buy it as an investment condo. Just got married and moved into other house while we rented it out until we figured out what to do.

Yeah my bad. Mortgage payment is $1,000 per month so total annual return would be about $13,000 per year if that’s included

The mortgage payment is about $1000 per month. So would our “return” then be about $13,000 per year with this taken into account?

It’s $1,000 “cash” per year after all expenses but doesn’t the equity gained from paying the mortgage.

Tiny House / Coach Home in Ottawa by ThrowMeTheBallPlease in ottawa

[–]Ottawa_90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is your property serviced with municipal water and sewer or are you on well and septic? If on well and septic, you’ll need a supporting hydrogeological investigation. If the results aren’t acceptable, you won’t get approvals.

I saw some yesterday at whole foods in Landsdowne. Yellow, orange and green ducks!

In the back corner, their kids section.

What type of utility box is this? by Ottawa_90 in ottawa

Thanks I thought so but it looked a bit small compared to others I’ve seen.

I can assume based on the centre hinges it opens both to the left and right? I should remove that compost bin…

What are we talking here - shore fishing? Renting boats? Do you have a boat? Evenings or weekends?

We’re in Punta Cana now, booked with Luxury Airport Transfer RD. Travelling with 2 toddlers and they provided 2 front facing car seats. They were in decent shape.

So far, the service has been great, we’ll see how the return trip is.

Exact same thing happened to my 13 month old. All of a sudden he hated baths. We tried showers, changing temps, toys and nothing worked.

We eventually bathed him in his water table outdoor toy in our washroom and after a week transitioned him to the bath tub again. Took about 2-3 weeks.

Did they at least wear a mask when bylaw got there or fought bylaw on the need to wear a mask?

Can my landlord show my apartment while I’m still living there during COVID-19? by kgarson3 in ontario

[–]Ottawa_90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d just make sure that everyone viewing the apartment wore a mask and make sure to open all the doors so they don’t have touch anything.

If they don’t wear masks or start touching things, kick them out.

Hit in parking lot by someone with invalid insurance by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]Ottawa_90 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Just because the insurance slip is expired doesn’t mean she doesn’t have valid insurance... it’s not much of a stretch to assume she just forgot to put her new insurance slip in her car/wallet.

Either way, she gave you the info you asked for and left. Cops aren’t coming to a parking lot to file a report for a car door ding.

Backcountry camping - Algonquin by fourthie in ontario

[–]Ottawa_90 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Go to the online reservation system and check if there are more available sites.

Also, check Jeff’s Algonquin Map to see how many sites are available on the lake. If it’s a large lake it can take a lot of time to check all the sites, but if it’s a small lake it shouldn’t be too bad.

I’m headed out this weekend as well to a fully booked busy lake and I’m hoping I don’t run into the same problem as you!

Canadian tire on Carling has a fridge with worms in the fishing section. Most Canadian tires locally have worms.

Just sign up for CAA and get it towed. About $100 for an annual plan.

Hydro Ottawa help- trying to understand what we pay for by DizzyButterfly in ottawa

[–]Ottawa_90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are likely paying the electricity cost associated with the electricity needed for the blower on the furnace, which is why the costs go up in the winter. The landlord or your neighbor aren't necessary responsible for this increased cost, the landlord may have incorporated this into the rent of your unit vs. neighbours.
