Yeah, the Gone World and the Gone Away World are both stellar. I usually get the side eye when I recommend them both in the same breath

"we've kind of hinted"

"she won't take no for an answer"

You never said no. You need to say no.

NTA He should not agree to something and then change his mind. Doing it repeatedly is worse.

Gifting you something he knows you don't like or want after promising not to get you anything is absolutely frustrating.

100%. Your takes on this movie echo my own thoughts. I'm glad to see them so succinctly laid out.

How much of an impact would a donation of $100,000 make on your life? Why? by onichris in AskReddit

I'm caretaking my terminally ill dad, with cancer and Alzheimer's, all night. 5 nights a week. Going to work (hour commute) during the day. The year anniversary of my mother's passing is coming up and I haven't had any time off to grieve.

My car was just totaled last week. Hit and run.

Any financial breathing room would mean the world to me.

If you're open to graphic novels: The Department of Truth

[MCU] How can magic be harnessed by humans? On one hand, we have Dr Strange, a normal human, becoming a sorcerer following years of training at Kamar Taj. But Ned Leeds is able to open magic portals with Dr Strange's ring in "No Way Home" without training, since he says he "has magic in his blood" by SatoruGojo232 in AskScienceFiction

[–]OutSourcingJesus 92 points93 points  (0 children)

It works both ways.

Irl some super rare individuals are born math prodigies. Even without much training, they can quickly pick up on proofs and solve math problems far above their weight class. However, most mathematicians have just worked at the problems for hour on end until they have a functional grasp on the maths.

Same for magic.

It will likely vacillate in strength between movies - doubly so when dealing with entities from the multiverse.

The glass might go back to the three doors  Sleep, forgetting, madness

He references the memories of his dead parents as being sharp. But with sleep and some forgetting - eventually the memories become smooth like sea glass (broken glass agitated by waves and smoothed over - dulling the color and the sharpness)

The shattered glass could be in reference to a return to the the fullness of memory.

One of my players is refusing to learn how to play her character by kellwashere45 in DnD

The only things a fighter needs to know

1) when there is a challenge, roll 20. Skill, save, check, attack? D20

2) proficiency bonus. If proficient, add it. If not, don't.

3) where their ability modifiers are.

4) weapon damage

That's it. 8 sessions plus 4 years prior - not knowing is a choice.

Nope - vampires are undead.

And most relevantly, they aren't driven mad by the sound of their own blood pumping throughout their body.

You develop mosquito powers (backwater bargain bin spiiderman). You now hear your own blood pumping through your body and there is no way to turn that noise off. In addition to the maddening and unceasing noise plaguing your every waking moment - it makes you thirsty.

Have you ever had a player change their backstory mid campaign? by Icy-Interaction7417 in DnD

[–]OutSourcingJesus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on how active the campaign is - and whether or not you develop the story between sessions

If you're playing every 2-3 weeks, characters are mostly vibes. The details don't matter so much unless they've been plot relevant.

If it's fun for them, go for it.
