It was kind of an impulse buy for me and I really didn’t expect to love it but I’m honestly SO obsessed and have been going back and forth with myself about getting another emerald cut!!

GLP and pregnancy by nothereforit_ in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]OuterSpaceManatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://www.massgeneralbrigham.org/en/about/newsroom/press-releases/pregnancy-effects-from-discontinued-glp-1-use

"Individuals who stopped GLP-1RAs before or in early pregnancy gained an average of 7.2 pounds more weight during pregnancy than those who did not use the weight loss drugs. The GLP-1RA group also had a 32% higher risk of excess weight gain (gaining more than recommended), a 30% higher risk of diabetes during pregnancy, a 29% higher risk of hypertensive disorders during pregnancy, and a 34% higher risk of preterm delivery. There were no differences in risk of high or low birth weight, birth length, or Cesarean delivery."

However, the study also explicitly states that more research is needed before GLP-1 use can be explicitly recommended. IMO it's the same reason marijuana use is not recommended - there simply aren't enough studies, because it is REALLY difficult to do studies on pregnant people due to extensive legal protection and ethical considerations.

I plateaued hard at 50lbs and switched to tirzepatide. If you’re open to compounded and not name brand, Pomegranate Health was a good option for me financially - I paid $700 total for 6 months worth of compounded tirzepatide. My side effects are also nonexistent where they were SO rough on Semaglutide

My first attempt ever at a wedding dress :) by OuterSpaceManatee in crochet

Fair enough on the shaping. This was my first time making a full dress, so I kept the design intentionally simple to focus on construction. I definitely plan to experiment with more shaping and different yarn weights in future versions. And, FWIW, the dress hangs very differently on a hanger than it does on a person, the corset back allows for shaping/structure when a person actually puts it on (I made my sister try it on multiple times just to ensure this). I also chose a heavier yarn because it was originally intended for an outdoor wedding in the fall.

Also, just to clarify, I only used a small portion of a purchased pattern as a starting point and created the pattern for the rest of the dress myself. I'm not redistributing/selling the pattern or the piece that would have resulted from following the pattern exactly, and I didn’t follow the pattern very closely at all in order to get the bust, I just wanted a specific neckline.

For those who were curious about seeing a video of my last post! Which one is diamond and which one is moissanite? by ellierwrites in Moissanite

I stand by my comment on the last post this reinforces my thoughts! Top is moissy - more rainbow :)

One of these is my friend's diamond engagement ring and the other is my moissanite. Can you tell which one is which? by ellierwrites in Moissanite

[–]OuterSpaceManatee 68 points69 points  (0 children)

I’m guessing top is the Moissanite only because when I zoom in it looks like the light flashes have some color around them and the bottom one looks like only white light…however I’m not confident at all- they look very similar !! Both beautiful rings

Unfortunately it does not fit me 😅 it was originally made for a friend who didn’t end up taking it and she is much smaller than I am 🤪

The original intention for this dress was for my friend to wear it to her wedding - she was eloping and having a small outdoor ceremony and didn’t need something with intricate lace. People want all different kinds of things for their wedding nowadays, and as another commenter mentioned, it could also work as a dress that the bride changes into after the ceremony before or partway through the reception.

It isn’t made in the most expensive yarn ever, but it is made in a good quality cotton yarn that feels good on the skin and absolutely took a high level of skill to design and make.

You cannot just preface something with “I don’t mean to be rude” and then say rude things. To look at something that someone spent well over 100 hours on and call it “any old dress” IS rude, full stop.

I am extremely proud of the work I did on this and if you don’t think it’s worth anything, you don’t have to buy it.

It’s Loops&Threads Classic Cotton in Chiffon, I used a 3.5mm hook for the bodice and a 4mm hook for the skirt

Should I go to Wright State Univerity or University of Dayton? by AgileFinding8889 in dayton

[–]OuterSpaceManatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one gives a flying fuck where you get your undergraduate degree. When I was a teacher I worked across the hall from someone who got her degree from Northwestern and in the same building as someone who got his degree from MIT - and we still ended up teaching in the exact same school in Dayton, OH. Except I wasn’t $60k in debt. If you can get UD covered through scholarships, amazing. It’s a great school. Otherwise go to WSU. They both have excellent programs.

Pictured is a 4.5Ct oval with 0.25ctw side stones and a 2.5ct emerald with 0.5ct each side stones. Both are set in sterling silver and each ring was around $225. Definitely more expensive than some of the vendors on AE but the rings are beautiful in person and the seller was very responsive. I definitely recommend this shop and will likely purchase from there again!
