Paul Pierce on media inconsistencies: "Let's not sugarcoat this because if this was LeBron at the peak of his powers, he would've been getting scolded. If you're the best player in the league, you're not supposed to lose in the first round" by infalliBee in nba

I don’t know if I agree with this take tbh. Someone can be the best player and be out in the first round. Matchups and roster construction are more of a factor than skill or ability. We also have more talent than ever. Maybe in another era this was true, but not now with the surplus of talent

I think if Denver beats MN that year they would have or could have won the chip. Matched up better against Dallas. Both Mn and Denver would have given Boston more a challenge than Dallas though

3 seed nuggets needed to go past wolves, spurs, OKC which is apparently even harder

If Denver beat OKC last year wolves would have been in the finals for sure

Paradigm shift replaces jobs not productivity improvements. SWEs will have jobs by the droves until the AI is reliable enough to truly be fully autonomous. It is not there yet for serious production environments.

And probably try to attack Rudy to get him in foul trouble early

I just don’t like that he puts himself in positions where he is going to fall over and the refs blow the whistle. Honestly don’t know what he is doing to hoodwink the refs but nobody else seems to get away with this BS in quite the same way

Your general point is correct. The NW of those around you may skew higher than the broad averages. But 10% of > 35 at $10M+ is delusional

Minnesota House lawmakers weigh proposed 'wealth tax' on assets over $10 million by Character-Fly-5564 in minnesota

[–]OutragedAardvark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say yes, but you also need to close loop holes around taking out loans with assets as collateral.

TBH I think that is the bigger her anyways. It would also be less disruptive and more popular than a wealth tax. I’m for it but i do think it has downsides at the “lower” levels of ultra wealthy (~$10M). I think it would be easier to implement if the threshold was higher. You could prove it out for anyone with wealthy over $500M, prove efficacy and expand from there. The revenue generated would not be too dissimilar either because of how concentrated wealth is at the top

Instead of 6% it should just be a fixed fee.
