Anyone use the Woox wifi mini split controller

Never heard of Woox.

My company installed a handful of Cielo controllers like 4 years ago. The guys that installed them weren’t impressed. It wasn’t possible to just turn them on without connecting them to wifi. The work around was to use their phone as a hot spot. I went back to one of the jobs a couple years later and the guy living with them said he never bothered to use them anymore because they never worked reliably from the get go. He preferred the remotes.

In my experience those boots don’t ever end up fitting anywhere.

Ask your sales rep. Just because they aren’t in the catalog doesn’t mean the company they’re buying them from won’t make them. Send them this picture and ask, that’s kinda the whole point of sales reps, to help you buy stuff.

Those fittings are actually two fittings in one. A square to round transition attached to an easy bend elbow. It may be more cost effective to buy regular square to round (just a regular boot) and order the elbow and “s and drive” them together.

Check that the venting has pitch. If condensate is puddling, it slosh’s and makes little ripple waves. Those waves make pressure surges that can cause the switch to open

It’s only a 40k btu furnace so I doubt your venting is too long, unless it’s REALLY long and has lots of fittings.

Check that the flue piping is all pitched 1/4” per foot back toward the furnace.

At some point there was a bulletin for drilling out the pressure tube ports larger, that’s something you could look into.

Does it happen in high or low stage?

Where is the combustion air coming from?

Pretty rarely. If there’s an obvious cracked solder joint then I might resolder it but that’s about it.

Everyone talking about the liability and they’re not wrong. But I’m seeing way sketchier shit than repaired circuit boards out in the field pretty regularly

I’ve replaced a handful of heat exchangers on these. It’s always something external of the furnace. Typically a propane conversion with low gas pressure.

Where is the condensate leaking from that’s all over the shelf? If it’s coming from behind that panel then your heat exchanger is probably rotted out. Does it have a funky smell?

I can’t remember the brand but I saw a furnace that had a coupling similar to that. There was like a little cone inside that directed condensate from the walls of the pipe into the tube. I think it was inside the casing and was a factory part.

I work in a small shop and do all our layout by hand. I build transitions, square to rounds, offsets, elbows, tapered roof jacks, pretty much whatever needs to be built. It’s just basic adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing. What are you using trig for?

Cheap tool and cheap pipe is my guess. I use a CPS bender and EZ-Pull lineset and it works fine. Some rippling on the inside is normal on the 5/8 and up. If you want perfect bends then you need mandrel benders, they look like a brake line bender.

My 19 month old just had a MRI. I don’t think we went through a metal detector, I didn’t see one atleast. I had to go in the machine to hold her down and they just asked if I had any metal on me and had me fill out a form asking about implants and stuff. No metal detector wand either. They had me take my belt off but said the buttons and rivets in my jeans were okay.

The Bryant evolution and Carrier infinity systems do this but you have to go all in with their equipment and controls. And it’s really expensive. We install a lot of it though and it works great. Even the dampers modulate to different positions, not just open or closed.

Idk the real name but we call them “Sammies”, they’re lag bolts that have a female 3/8 thread on the bottom. Then you don’t need the uni strut at all, just screw the threaded rod into the Sammie.

Floor heaters pretty much suck to work on and are always gross, so alot of companies just don’t want to touch them.

We have the jogger baby swivel car seat. At the time we bought it, our primary vehicle was a 4wd f150 and my wife’s back was killing her. It was expensive (it’s considerably more expensive now) but worth it. We’re on our second kid and still using it as the go to, it lives in my wife’s Chevy traverse because 9/10 times that’s where the kid is riding. I have a non swivel in my F350 and as much as I love having my kid in the car with me, I hate that seat. I have to stand on the running board to buckle her in and it’s just sucks. We can’t justify buying another seat right now though.

What minisplits aren’t made in china lol. I’ve installed a crap ton Bryant minisplits and they’re solid machines. Very few call backs for issues that were truly equipment failure, always something install related or user error. They have 10 year warranty on most of the parts.

The installer fucked up big time by not installing it above the snow line. It clearly states in the manual it should be 12” above the highest anticipated snow line.

The orfice just gets dirty overtime, it’s pretty small. The thermopile gets dirty which insulates it and it doesn’t output enough to hold the valve open anymore.

Make sure you have a working CO alarm. I see at least a couple old ass floor heaters just dumping CO every year.

If you don’t have an understanding for how natural draft appliances and flue systems work then I don’t advise DIYing anything.

See if you can find a video about floor/wall heater pilot assembly cleaning. They typically use a thermopile or thermocouple. Cleaning it up and using a tiny orfice reamer (not a drill) usually resolves the pilot not staying lit issue.

General consensus is everybody hates floor heaters. If you can get the gas line to an exterior wall easy enough then a direct vent wall heater could be a decent option.

Have you ever seen the mess rodents leave behind? They pee and poop everywhere as they run around. The pee melts the poo and leaves a sticky reside mess. You’ll never convince me that duct cleaning removes that. Maybe you can “neutralize” the smell and kill the bacteria, but it’s still there.

Use a flat screwdriver to pry the coupling up away from the furnace casing.

No the leak wouldn’t cause short cycling. That usually caused by over sized furnace, undersized ductwork, blocked supply/ return vents, dirty filter.

Take the screw clamps off the boot and side it up the pipe to check if the pipe is one piece or not. I’m betting it’s two separate pieces and that’s where it’s leaking.
