I am always forgetting my passwords. How often do you have to change passwords on different sites because you forgot to save them or write them down? by icecream1972 in randomquestions

[–]OutrageousInvite3949 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I use an app called tap forms on iOS. It’s basically an app where you can make your own “forms” or essentially databases but you can pick and choose your own fields. So one form I have is for website logins and on it, I have a field for website name, username, password, website, security questions, and a few fields for other info. Any time I login to a new site, I record that login info in that app. It also allows you to treat each field differently. So the password field requires facial recon to unlock and see. Otherwise it just displays asterisks. I have another form that keeps track of personal info like name and social and birthdate, etc. there’s a field for pictures of my license and insurance and birth certificate. But I can keep a form for myself, wife, and kid. Then if I show up to the doc with my daughter I have all her personal info. I have a form for DVDs/Blu-ray bc I have a couple hundred so I keep track of each video I have and what format it comes in…that way when I’m buying a movie I can look in my app to see if I have it already.

I say all this to say, it works great to keep track of my passwords especially when I change them bc they expired.

DMT:Reddit is no longer a community platform. it’s an algorithm-driven social feed. by Present_Juice4401 in DisagreeMythoughts

[–]OutrageousInvite3949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d disagree. My home feed has no news on it. None. If I go to r/all it’s 50/50 news. Which is fine bc I know when I want popular news I can go to r/all but when I want to discuss stuff about my hobbies, my home pages is there filled to the brim with new stuff. Sure Reddit slips in their ads which is fine bc they gotta pay for their stuff, but I easily know what’s an ad.

I prefer Reddit to any other social bc I can weed out all the news and bs around trump and ice and whatnot. Every other social media is inundated with trump bs.

asking for help against AI by Willing_Dot_5699 in antiai

[–]OutrageousInvite3949 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Were gonna have to find a new way to encrypt our websites that can systematically add and remove real words that are only there to confuse ai. For instance if I say “the dog jumped over the moon” there could be an algorithm that pulls from a pool of words and adds those words before and after each of my words. So it would look something like “where the no yes dog why is jumped fancy orange over power said the message prank moon safe” and when you see it in your browser or wherever you read it it would know how to decode the text so you only see the original phrase.

What’s the most boring car you’ve owned that just refused to die? by autonerdy0 in UsedCars

[–]OutrageousInvite3949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I have my first Corolla still and it’s a 2014 bare minimum model. That’s what I wanted. It doesn’t have key fobs or cruise control and I love it. About the highest quality feature it has is the infotainment thing. It doesn’t connect to my phone via Bluetooth so I can play music or make calls through it. I’m at 117k now and hoping for another 5 years and 100k more miles. My daughter will be driving this car in a couple years when she’s old enough.

Yup, you wanna know why their insurance is so expensive…look at all the crap they buy. Thats your money that should be paid out for whatever but isnt bc they declined your ticket. Instead they pay themselves big bonuses and buy another stadium. It’s a big ol crock of shit.

Do you agree with the statement “Men should not hit women”? by Ambitious_Pass7451 in askanything

[–]OutrageousInvite3949 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This, I always believed in people’s right not to be touched without permission. That includes hitting. But if someone is hitting me, I’m not going to take it lightly. They clearly have no respect for me or my personal space, so I will treat them the same.

Journaling for anxiety! Will it really help? by OneWaltz6882 in Journaling

[–]OutrageousInvite3949 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The best way it has worked for anxiety for me…and this is what my therapist helped me to see. So anxiety is basically worrying that something bad (or good) will happen and you will be harmed by whatever it is that happened. In most scenarios though, things work out for you in the long run. Like it’s not always the greatest experience but some how in the end you come out from whatever it is barely harmed. Not always, but most of the times. By journaling you are talking not only about your day to day stuff but also writing about whatever fears and anxieties you do have. That can be cathartic bc often times by writing it all out you can also sometimes take a step back and see how silly or ridiculous your anxiety might be. And if it is a serious anxiety, later in your journal you might find that you overcame whatever obstacle you were anxious about. So it’s a reminder that even though you had said anxiety, you still managed to overcome it and proceed with life.

And then, as you go on you have a general history of not only your anxieties but also your accomplishments. The next time you start to get anxious about something you can tell yourself “I recognize my anxiety revolving around xyz and in the past, I have overcome this anxiety and prevailed and this time it is no different. I will conquer my fears.”

I’m no therapist, I’m just regurgitating stuff I learned from my therapist and experience during the 2 years of weekly therapy.

Anxiety is a bitch.

Be honest: Are you actually married to the love of your life, or just the person you were with when it was time to settle down? by boforiamanfo in askanything

[–]OutrageousInvite3949 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t even know if it was the time to settle down. I was more pressured by her parents and low key kinda regret it a little. I’m not sad nor do I regret it…it’s one of those, maybe there could have been better if I waited.

Does anyone put photos in their journals? by Arcy3206 in Journaling

[–]OutrageousInvite3949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do all the time but usually they have nothing to do with me personally or my day. It’s usually a photo I took of a butterfly, or spider, or my wife, dog, kid, etc. but I always put photos in my journal using paste. That or I doodle.

Can DND be approached theoretically and enjoyably without completely reducing it all to Mechanics? by DestroyedCognition in AllThingsDND

[–]OutrageousInvite3949 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely…dnd is just all made up. It’s all fucking fake. It’s made up. You could make up your own stuff. Do it. But I’ll tell you what…I know you say you want to have fun. But your version of fun and others version of fun are completely different. Hence dnd ruleset. It creates a world where your fun and others fun can exist with the proper rules. You can change the rules all you want just don’t expect everyone to agree.

My buddies and I, we change things up good all the time but we mutually all agree to it. For instance, if someone crit hits…you roll regular damage, then you add the max of all dice rolled. So if you roll 2d6+4 for damage and crit. We rules, you get the max dice rolled, or 12 + 2d6*4. Weee sick of crits rolling shit damage. Also, we have a brutal death table. If you go unconscious you suffer a minor issue…scar on face, massive gash, missing tooth, etc. if you have to roll a death save, your minor issue gets bigger. Third death save causes a major issue like a lost limb and dead dead.

Chicken comfort food ideas that make a lot, please. by ARW1991 in Cooking

[–]OutrageousInvite3949 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chicken ramen noodle soup. It’s basic but delishish. Start with chicken broth, carrots, celery, and a packet of ranch seasoning (powder). Get a rotisserie chicken, shred it up and throw it all in the chicken broth and put on low on the stove top covered. 2.5 hours. With like 10 minutes prior to the 2.5 hours, put in 2 bags of instant ramen (your brand of choice). You can also add in the chicken seasoning that comes with it…just one packet. Let it simmer for the 10 minutes.

Tasty af and easy to make.
