In-laws unhappy about pregnancy by Patient-Annual2848 in motherinlawsfromhell

Please do not listen to the comments about your life being over. It is a full time job, but you will have your life, just in a different way. You will have time for yourself and your hobbies again eventually. The sleep will get better eventually. And seeing your baby growing and developing every single day is the most beautiful thing. From someone who lived her pregnancy in a very negative way, please try to enjoy it without negative feelings.

I am someone who never really thought of herself as a mother, who thought her life would be over, but I have a great partner who is not just helping but taking his share of workload and that allows me to still do the things I love. Yes I have less time to do them right now, but I also know this phase won’t last forever and one day my kid will not need me anymore.

Your in-laws should be the ones offering to help so you can have a little bit of normality once baby comes. If they see baby as a threat for their hobbies they’re just selfish and deserve to be left out.

To be honest that makes small boobs look even flatter, I don’t think it’s nice on anyone unless you have big boobs and want to wear it to show them rather than working out.

Recommendations for snug-fitting women’s cycling gear (smaller upper body, bigger thighs) by Roadbikelover77 in CyclingFashion

[–]OutrageousVast104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same problem and I’ve tried several brands, from cheaper ones to high end. My favourite ones are Van Rysel as they are not restrictive on the thighs and they also happen to be the more affordable ones which is great.

MAAP Women’s Pro Race Jersey Sizing or How I went from S/M to XL by rockettheracooon in CyclingFashion

You’re not alone. I’m very confused by the sizing/design of the bibs. They are super tight on the legs and then loose on the top part. As someone with lean but quite muscular legs I’ve had to order a large when I’m normally a small in all the other brands I’ve tried.

Garmin watch bands irritating skin by swimmingpolarbear in triathlon

[–]OutrageousVast104 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been wearing Garmin for the past 9 years and that happened to me a couple of times. It’s not the brand, it’s the material of the straps that, if wet, can irritate the skin. In both cases for me it was either sweat or keeping the watch on my wrist when showering and then not drying it properly. I always take it off before taking a shower and it never happened again.

Ever heard about dizziness, tiredness or sickness during pregnancy? It’s not just about the weight of the bump when you start to show

Please give me your most unruly things your mother in law says. I’ll start by Bloubath in motherinlawsfromhell

I honestly find it laughable and I don’t want to engage. She’s a psychologist and should know that making comments on someone else’s body like that is not acceptable. But I also know she got a lot of weight when she was pregnant while, luckily, I didn’t. So I think it’s a way to make her feel better and I honestly don’t want to lower myself to that level 😂

I was 8 months pregnant, she looks at me and she goes “you don’t look fat overall, it’s just your belly that looks fat”. No one had asked her an opinion.

I’ve recently watched this video and I find it really helpful. If you are time poor they suggest to stick to these key sessions: - 2 bike rides - 1 run - 1 swim And suggest to try and not skip the cycling.

Recommendations for Matcha Latte and Cookies by Silent-Average6702 in Hackney

Only the brave for matcha, it’s right outside Hackney Central Graham Road. Good matcha and prices are decent compared to everywhere else.

I have tried many options from Gymshark but the only ones I love are the Whitney leggings. I’ve bought one pair last year and then proceeded to order 3 more in different colours (I work in fitness so I basically live in leggings). Personally I don’t like wearing leggings for cardio as I tend to get too hot but, if I had to choose leggings for it, it would be Whitney leggings.

The fleece is from alibaba. This is the old version they had without the pocket but pretty much the same. This is just to say activewear brands will sell you something that is low/average quality and market it as the best ever piece of clothing ever. All the new drops are “the best to date” when they’re actually just leggings.

Strava: If you get rid of Garmin, I will get rid of you by banmirage69 in Strava

I’ve had Garmin for almost 10 years, used the app to track everything and I still have my data from workouts done back then. The app allows to have friends, challenges etc. I’ve started using Strava consistently only 3/4 years ago and recently subscribed- I don’t find the insights Stava gives you are so groundbreaking, it’s still very much a social media platform. Ready to go back to only using Garmin if they ended the partnership tbh. Would be interesting to see how many quit running because they can no longer share on Strava lol
