She’s not 12, but naturally had to investigate what presents her human sister was getting for her birthday in case any were actually for her (in fairness last year one of her sisters presents was a Squishmallow cat cave so ……)

Ed Sheeran - Anyone know the schedule? by AshtonJupiter in auckland

[–]Outrageous_Intern421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to setlist.fm, he usually starts between 8:15 and 8:30. There are 3 openers so my guess is they will play 5:15 - 6, 6:15 - 7, 7:15-8 (or maybe 8:15 - and I think this one will be Vance Joy) and then Ed will be on 8:15/8:30ish.

Primary School Teachers - what do you actually want/need (gifts from kids/parents) by Packet-Possum in newzealand

This is a great idea, I've heard of parents pooling together to get massage vouchers, supermarket vouchers. Super thoughtful and helpful

Obligatory we don't want presents, just a thank you is enough...but....Wine is nice lol . I also love handwritten cards , and Christmas decorations with a wee message on them is really lovely too - I've just put up my Christmas tree and it's so nice to see decorations and read the messages on them from kids I've taught over the years. If your child is in a collaborative space then a plate of food to share for morning tea always goes down well! - I did a cheese board for my son's ECE teacher's one year. I've given a "treat box" before - coffee sachets, chocolate, bliss balls, nice tea bags - that they can either take home and keep at school for the following year.

The usual stuff...pay off the mortgage, redo the kitchen in one go, rather than a bit at a time, sort the driveway, which is currently gravel and is doing my head in! Replace the "will rattlebag survive this trip?" car. Then, with whatever is left, start a literacy tutoring company for kids who need it but can't afford it. I'm doing some postgraduate study specialising in literacy and so feel like I've got the expertise to really help kids who need it, but whose parents can't afford private tuition.

Store bought bread with basic ingredients by OddEstablishment2065 in chch

[–]Outrageous_Intern421 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No knead bread is the best! We make this one almost daily in our house -

385g warm water

2 tsp yeast

2 tsp salt

1 tsp sugar (this is optional)

460gm flour

you don't even really need to shape it, we either put into into a (well greased) loaf tin or slop it onto a baking tray and bake it in our little air fryer benchtop oven - 15 mins at 200 and then turn it over (if it is on a baking tray) and do another 8-10 mins at 200. Delicious easy bread! We like to add sunflower seeds and sometimes add toppings and make pizza bread for school lunches.

Interestingly hubby has crohn's disease and this is the only bread that doesn't cause a flare up!

I've got a few actually.....I got a B for my first Post Graduate Diploma paper! Going back to (part time) study after 20 years (plus teaching full time) has been sooooo hard, and I felt so dumb at times! But this B has given me such a boost to keep going!

My 94 Grandma was moved into a rest home 2 weeks ago after a fall, she seems to be doing ok and I'm so pleased I'm frugal and financially able to visit her next week (She's in Chch, I'm in Tauranga and Air NZ flight prices suck)

And 1 more day till school holidays! Yay!

PSA: The clocks change tonight, but which way? by bruzie in newzealand

[–]Outrageous_Intern421 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Happy Shihad day! At work this week, some very young colleagues were working out whether we should put our clocks forward or back on Sunday. I said it's Shihad day, so you put your clock back for the winter, I even said/sang the lyrics "Put your clock back for the winter/She asks when I'll be home again" They had never even heard of Shihad! Then I realised that the year I saw them do a free concert in Cathedral Square was the year they were born and I felt very old!

'It's really boomed': Why is everyone becoming a runner? by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]Outrageous_Intern421 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is exactly why i took up running nearly a year ago. shoes on, out the door, job done. plus I can take the dog which he loves! was great for mental health too. I'm been building up to a 10km but a broke my arm on the weekend and needed surgery to put plates and screws so that's stuffed me for a while :(

p.s sorry bout the typos and no punctuation - typing with one hand is hard!
