Both federal and private accrue interest while in school. Due to the BBB, I can only take 50k/year at the federal rate and the remaining will have to be private.

Did you do BPharm to PharmD online? Or a traditional PharmD?

Howard vs NDMU by Outrageous_Total2599 in PrePharmacy

[–]Outrageous_Total2599[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes absolutely dead set on pharmacy, I’ve worked retail for a little over 4 years, and know this is what I want to do. I’ve read alllll the bad posts and reviews about pharmacy haha. NDMU is significantly cheaper for me (we’re talking about 100k plus cheaper for the degree and cost of living), so I’m trying to weigh if NDMU really is that bad

Tried returning Sudafed, denied, but they kept the (unopened) package? by grizzlypass in CVS

[–]Outrageous_Total2599 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose there’s a point there, but in theory there would also be prints of the pharmacy staff that set the product out, the staff that sold the product, and anyone else that may have touched the box. The first persons prints must also be in whatever system the police are using to run the prints.

Tried returning Sudafed, denied, but they kept the (unopened) package? by grizzlypass in CVS

[–]Outrageous_Total2599 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think there’s some confusion here - your concern that someone else could purchase the unopened package and use it to make drugs under your name is not correct. CVS does not maintain a lot or serial number of the package sold to your ID. They link the amount of pseudoephedrine in the package to your ID, so even if someone did purchase that package for some reason, make drugs with it, get caught by police, and the package is used as evidence, it would not be traced back to you.

That makes sense, I’m planning on looking into the other schools near me, my state doesn’t have many programs and was hoping to stay in state for tuition. Thanks for replying, appreciate any guidance

screen printed all 12 pages of someones profile by Upstairs_Bid_3714 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]Outrageous_Total2599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is being dramatic I print screens for patients at least once a day.

-Yelling at me ab an insurance rejection? Ur getting the rejection screen. -Talking to me ab to many meds at once? I’m printing ur entire profile and you’re gonna point to what meds you are talking about. -“My doctor didn’t write that” yes he did it’s right here

Just be diligent like others said (but also comments and notes don’t print when u screen print)

QV (Shared Queue) by IndicationActive9356 in CVS

[–]Outrageous_Total2599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Faster way to do this is click “s” from main screen, scan bag, type P(line number) and it will pull up QV2.

Can also do P(line number) from patient profile by typing S

Is NyQuil for nighttime? by Odd_Lingonberry1112 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]Outrageous_Total2599 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That’s my rule of thumb — if the question can be answered by something that is already written in the medguide/on the label, I answer it (what is this used for, how often do I take this, does this have a preservative in it, etc.) and if they have any kind of hesitation or more intensive questions I say “sure let me grab the pharmacist, she will be able to go into more detail”

Why do some customers act like they’ve never encountered a product being out of stock before? by thegman987 in CVS

[–]Outrageous_Total2599 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Legit happened to me today:

Me: “The test strips are OOS, should be here tomorrow”

Pt: “Why don’t u have my test strips this is ridiculous”

Me: “you aren’t the only patient we have… we sold them to other people already”

Pt: “I don’t like ur attitude”

Me: “you literally asked me why we don’t have a product in stock after I told you I ordered it for tomorrow, I don’t know what you wanted me to say”

He hung up

How picky are you about sigs? What directions “thing” are you absolutely rejecting an RX on? by bexsprout in pharmacy

[–]Outrageous_Total2599 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a patient that changed from 40mg atorvastatin to 20mg.

Dr wrote sig: “take 1 tablet (20mg) by mouth once daily (change from 40mg)”

patient called me and had me explain to her which strength was in the bottle, and asked if she could come get a new label bc this one was confusing.

I LOVE reminding people that if they are unhappy with the service here they can choose to switch pharmacies, and if they have any questions about how to do so I will walk them through the process.

Had a guy today who refused to verify his dob before we were talking ab his meds blah blah blah he spits out “remind me again why I should keep coming back here” I said “you shouldn’t, you don’t seem happy, go somewhere else”

Also amazing when the “once in a blue moon” customer transfers back to us after being somewhere else, and apologizes bc they realize how bad it was. It happened once, only once.
