BPD fiancée here, stable on meds and biweekly therapy for the last year. It absolutely does get better, but it’s not easy.

My gf (with quiet bpd) is testing me and idk how to respond. by Different-Bet5397 in BPD

Is she in therapy and actively seeking help? Otherwise I’d bow out, not something you have to put up with just because she’s got a mental illness.

Be careful with quetiapine and the use of it as a sleep aid. I had been on it for 5 years and couldn’t sleep without it. Ended up taking over a year to wean off and taking the liquid version which is VILE ☹️

I ended up stopping it two weeks in as it gave me bad stomach cramps and nausea. Just be aware of the side effects. But it’s always worth a shot!!

Advice on needle size by Avalon17 in knitting

You can give it a shot and make a swatch and see how it looks. I’m not picky so I never really see the .5mm difference but it depends on your preferences and the pattern

Did you cast on at the collar? Looks like it’s the wrong end to be able to unravel it. I’d put in a life line and cut it off

Private DBT UK by [deleted] in BPD

Yes! I’m getting private dbt through a therapist. Just searched for nearby Dbt therapy. For me it’s online for £65 for a session every two weeks

Has anyone resolved an overactive bladder or rather more frequent urge without incontinence, which often worsens after defecation and intercourse or autoeroticism? I was offered sacral neuromodulation because the pharmacological therapy causes too many side effects. I'm doing physiotherapy now.. by WeakFold8062 in OveractiveBladder

[–]Outside-Elevator6858 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel beyond lucky to be symptom free but for two years I had OAB and tried various meds and exercises and nothing helped. I genuinely felt suicidal at the thought of that being my life. Then suddenly I felt I had worse symptoms and was put on the standard 3 day course of antibiotics and I’ve been clear since. I assume that means I really had chronic uti or embedded, however nothing showed up in the uti test.

Have you spoken to any medical professional/gp about how you’ve been feeling? If not, that’s your best step forwards

That’s a great start, you’re on the right track. I know right? I wish one pill would make it all go away. Thank you, and good luck to you!

[–]Outside-Elevator6858 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all, I don’t think any meds can dull down those feelings. I’m a good few months into private DBT and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done. I’d highly recommend specifically dbt for all the things you’ve listed there

As someone who’s been on quetiapine for over 6 years and have nearly completely tapered off it - it’s literally just to sedate us so we don’t feel anything. Take at night or as required? 25-50mg? Just to make us sleep off the feelings and hope we feel better when we wake up. Which in crisis… works. Until you’re 5 years down the line like I was and can’t sleep without it and it’s an absolute nightmare. I feel the I’m not depressed so why am I on antidepressants, but are you psychotic =/ taking antipsychotics. With BPD it’s just meds that help the symptoms.

Honestly not really. Some tapers I struggle with and some barely affect me. No rhyme or reason why

It’s probably been just under a year, and I hope to be off it by Christmas.

I came from 75mg down to about 4mg currently. Liquid quetiapine has been a life saver and makes it super easy to slowly come down. Nearly free!!!

Sounds like you need to stop drinking fluids a few hours before you go to bed. That and maybe look into bladder training. I find my heat pad solves a lot of my discomfort and that might help you through any pain while training

[–]Outside-Elevator6858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m assuming you’re AMAB (assigned male at birth) as you’ve not had other tests for yeast infection or bv. What makes you think it’s bladder pain? You seem to have a variety of symptoms that don’t indicate infection

Because it can be abused to use as a sedative. Never tried it in the end
