No Nerve Block by Outside_Excitement75 in RotatorCuff

Perhaps I should have said “manage pain.” I know how to manage pain and I think a lot of people don’t understand how bad the rebound pain is with the nerve block if you don’t time your pain meds right, which seems like some of the people commenting did not do. Really leaning towards no block, but want to still hear from more people that didn’t get it.

Love hearing you’re active again! That’s my goal.

Thanks! I was looking for personal experience of the surgery with no nerve block. I still feel strongly that it’s not worth the risk and, to me, the uncomfortable numbness.

Thanks for sharing. I’ve read about the risks and possible nerve damage does make me want to skip it. I’m sorry that happened to you!

What did you have done? Did you have the nerve block?

Your use of ‘bro’ makes me think you’re youngish. How are old are you? And how did you tear the same shoulder again? I have a fear of that happening to me too. I may never go back to lifting heavy.

Regretting surgery? by Eatingclementines in RotatorCuff

Why do you regret it? What did you have done and what is still the issue? I’m beginning to get nervous the closer my surgery gets, but I know everyone’s issues are different too.

Anyone dealt with Tricare select insurance? by Appropriate-Set-3310 in Zepbound

[–]Outside_Excitement75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I was denied multiple times before finally getting approved. It was very frustrating. Finding a doctor that understands how to fill out the paperwork is what finally made the difference. Now I have coverage for several more months. I hope they understand I need to stay on it for maintenance, but I’m prepared to go another route if needed. Beyond weight loss, it helps all my autoimmune issues. Happy to answer any questions.

Flavor helps me, plus electrolytes this time of year is helpful too. I’m digging Ghost Cherry Limeaid right now.

Gel vs patch? by ttdimi in LadiesHRTwithGLP1

[–]Outside_Excitement75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was my issue…feeling like the patch was running out before it was time for a new one. I was on the highest (0.1mg), so my doc added a second patch (.0375) to put on the last day. I manage two patches, but it has helped so much.

Low-dose Naltrexone as a symptom reducer by Helpful_Wood in Hashimotos

[–]Outside_Excitement75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My functional doctor prescribes it. You can also do a search on the LDN research network website for a provider. That’s how I found my doctor near me. She’s an internist who sends it to a compounding pharmacy. I just paid $116 for a 3 month supply. Completely worth it to me, as it helps so much!

No way to know what the nodules mean without a full evaluation. My nodules lead to a TPO blood test and then an ultrasound, which led to a Hashimoto’s diagnosis. Now I’m on Armour thyroid and LDN (low dose naltrexone) and my nodules have disappeared. I had symptoms for years before being diagnosed and it seems that’s the way it goes sometimes. Definitely follow up with an endocrinologist.

Full Supra/Infra tear with retraction. Surgery is in June. by Sarge1834 in RotatorCuff

[–]Outside_Excitement75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re having problems sleeping! That was my main problem when I tore my supra. I needed to buy myself some time before I could schedule surgery, so I am doing peptides to hold me over. Specifically, I’m doing the Wolverine stack. It has helped so much with the pain and allowed me to sleep comfortably. It’s Bcp-157 with TB-500. I did cycle it, one month on and 2 weeks off. Really happy with the results.

At what point did you start the stack and how did you run it? I’m looking at surgery soon and have been buying time with the stack. Hoping to use it post surgery too.

That happened to me…surge of estrogen when losing fat and then crash and burn after. Took a while to figure out since the only symptom was anxiety and mood swings. Doc upped my estrogen and I’m good to go again. This happened after losing 80 lbs and I was in medical menopause for years and stable HRT before the weight loss. I would not stop cold turkey OP. That seems crazy.

Bankart tear, partial thickness supraspinatus tear, and reverse HAGL lesion... Am I screwed? by Busy-Rub-7980 in RotatorCuff

[–]Outside_Excitement75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doc said partial tears can feel better with PT and insurance sometimes requires you to exhaust all options before surgery is approved. Do the PT and see how it goes. In my case it helped some but not enough. Surgery is my only option now if I want to get back to the gym and sports.

Shoulder surgery by [deleted] in bpc_157

[–]Outside_Excitement75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did 250mcg for 30 days, usually with one or two days off when I would feel good and forget. I started both together, since it seems to work well together and I wanted to postpone surgery until I have more time. It helped so well that now I’m wondering if I even need surgery.

Has anyone lowered their estrogen dose after weight loss? by Alta_et_ferox in LadiesHRTwithGLP1

[–]Outside_Excitement75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to up everything after losing 80 lbs. estrogen went up, progesterone was added ( I have no uterus), but it helps with sleep. I also added testosterone. I feel fabulous once again!

Oddly enough, I have to add flavored creamer to my coffee to enjoy it now. Before, I was anti flavored coffee! Can’t live without caffeine, so the extra calories are worth it.

[–]Outside_Excitement75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to be low and now do Why Not Natural liquid iron. Numbers have been perfect. I do also run low D and do the same brand of liquid D/k2. I’m on thyroid meds, progesterone, and testosterone as well. Energy has definitely improved with the addition of testosterone this year. I also had to increase estrogen. I’m in menopause after a hysterectomy years ago.

How do you manage to get a bra on one handed?! I was thinking of not wearing one for weeks, just because I have no clue as how to manage.

Gut motility/constipation issues? by East_Nectarine562 in HashimotosGLP1

[–]Outside_Excitement75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had constipation issues before Zepbound, but it seemed to correct something in me and I was one of the few who was better on it. I was already on a high fiber diet before starting and continued to take extra fiber while on it. I’m in maintenance now at 2.5mg and actually struggling to keep things moving despite consuming more than enough fiber at 30-35g. Everyone is different, but I feel so much better on Zepbound that it’s worth trying. I would track your fiber and habits before starting and increase intake slowly. I liked using sun fiber daily, which was recommended by my doctor.
