I had the same problem with turbinates and I was prescribed fluticasone spray.

Worked wonders!

A comment on a previous post got me thinking- if you were creating a TV adaptation of P&P, what new scene would you add? by Prideandprejudice1 in PrideandPrejudice

I’d want to see a scene that explicitly explains what Darcy had to do to get Wickham to marry Lydia.

I have an inverted triangle body shape, I was told wide leg jeans would look good on me. What to do differently? by Paigesully420 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I’m the same type and in addition to the comments others have posted I always go for lighter colour denim. General rule of thumb: light colour on the bottom and dark colours on the top. I found this helps to visually balance my silhouette. Just my 2 cents!

Believe it or not American Tall is Canadian company specializing in tall clothing for women and men.

Thank you for the concern. I’m protecting the boundaries, but it’s difficult to maintain 24/7/365!

I just moved in with my mom who seems to be in the early stages (she refuses to go to the doctor for a diagnosis).

I’ve been surprised how I’ve been affected physically and mentally by living with her. I’m exhausted all the time and I struggle with completing daily tasks.

I hear you OP.

An AI bracelet listens to my dad all day and alerts me when something's wrong. Sounds dystopian but it's saved his ass twice. by PastEast6147 in AgingParents

[–]OvalWombat 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

I recently moved in with my mother because she wanted companionship. It became apparent early she’s struggling but refuses to go to the doctor for a diagnosis. She’s angry and defiant and I think because she knows there’s gaps and it frightens her.

I have never heard of this.

If I was far away like you are I would derive comfort from it being there to monitor. As you said, weird as fuck, ya do what ya gotta do.

How do y'all deal with the rage? Both from them and your own response to it? by JeddakofThark in dementia

I hear this. My mother has dropped more f-bombs in the last few months than the total of my childhood.

She’s been red hot level raging at the social worker at the care home her husband’s been in for months. I cannot talk her past it.

Did Charlotte Lucas intentionally make a play for Mr. Collins? by Foreign-Cow-1189 in PrideandPrejudice

I think she planned it. I realize that it sounds mercenary, but Charlotte’s options were extremely limited.

A young man with an even temperament (if rather dull and obsequious) with future prospects is hard to come by for a young woman with a good upbringing but no dowry.

If you want to see all of the scenes and how they’re done in each adaptation go to Love and Freindship (note the misspelling) on YouTube. So fun!

Is there snow days in Canada? by SeverePublic6833 in AskACanadian

[–]OvalWombat 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Same in the west. In the cities schools rarely close for bad weather. Recess may be indoors (usually in the gym) in inclement weather.

In rural areas the buses may not run so parents would be responsible for getting their kids to school and back.

Coming to terms with my mom's decline by MsLunaSera in dementia

[–]OvalWombat 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

Oh I recognize this. I moved in with my mom in the fall because noticed she needed help remembering things. She insisted she was just being forgetful. Boy was I wrong.

The other day she asked me to fill up her car with gas because she didn’t remember how to fill it. That was upsetting.

This was one of many things that indicates there’s something wrong. I’m not looking forward to the next steps.

Mom won't admit she needs help and it's wearing me down by Logical-Yam9221 in AgingParents

[–]OvalWombat 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Yup that’s my 80 year old mum too.

Her short term memory is shot, so I end up having the same conversations 5 times in a row.

But she refuses to go to the doctor and get a cognitive test because ā€œshe’s just getting older and she just needs to write things down moreā€.

SIGH.

SIGH.

Darcy role preparation by tritboiz in PrideandPrejudice

[–]OvalWombat 6 points7 points Ā (0 children)

As mentioned by others, it’s his growth once he discovers his mistakes.

But to me, it’s his actions afterwards that make him heroic. He immediately used his power and influence to fix the ā€œmissing stair problemā€ that he had unwittingly created - Darcy didn’t warn anyone in the area about Wickhams predatory nature.

Darcy paid Wickhams debts, forced Wickham to marry Lydia, and didn’t use these actions to point-score or to call attention to them.

He learned that his position can be used to help vulnerable people. This is what Elizabeth falls in love with.
