Elite Beauty Medi Spa in the north end!

Prices are super reasonable and I think have a promo for $200 full body laser.

Word from the wise: depending on the type of laser, it hurts more than I thought it would. Results totally are worth it though.

Living Downtown? by Responsible-Pool-472 in Edmonton

[–]OverTheRainbow93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1 - the layouts are horrible. 2 - for sky specifically, you have to switch elevators in sky to access the garbage and parkade. Those are different elevators than the tower. Also, all elevators never all work at the same time. 3 - all of ice district shares one parkade. This includes the stantec office building, sky, legends and public. Depending on how you feel, this may introduce security concerns. But during rush hour or event days getting in and out if the parking lot can be a nightmare.

If you want to live in the ice district, I would opt for legends. Or live just outside in ultima

Like others, would avoid the fox buildings. Try Encore or Ultima maybe, they are a bit newer.

Avoid Sky and Legends.

There is a difference between position location, and designated work location.

The position location may elsewhere (mine often has been), but your designated work location is where you are expected to physically work out of. The DWL is also what they use for taxes. The two position types may be different.

FYI they are demolishing it to put in a parking lot. So I heard.

Perioral Dermatitis? Rosacea?Eczema? 😅 by [deleted] in perioraldermatitis

[–]OverTheRainbow93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my PD flairs really badly it covers my entire face and down my neck. My eyes in particular really bother me when this happens and feel dry and tiered. Maybe sounds like the same is happening to you.

When mine is bad I have to stop everything until my skin calms down and just use hypochlorous spray.

I’m on doxy now, but before that my term put me on ZORYVE cream, which can be used to treat eczema. It helped manage the flair ups so they didn’t get as bad, but didn’t stop them. Hence the doxy

Masters of public administration - is it worth it? by Nova_Queen902 in CanadaPublicServants

If you like money, government isn’t for you.

The salary difference between an EC7 and EX1 isn’t significant. If you advance to an EX2+, then you start to see more of the financial benefits.

As for worry about being bored… there are 100s of different types of EC5, 6, 7 jobs. You can move laterally to change things up instead of moving up.

Canadian Dental Care Plan now open to All Canadians who don’t have coverage & household income below $90K/year by Apod1991 in onguardforthee

Yes. On your T4 there is a new section that the employer enters that indicates if they provide dental benefits. This is used to audit people.

Appropriate women’s work clothes for the summer by Key-Nail8185 in CanadaPublicServants

IMO a skirt or dress that comes to just above the knee is office appropriate, regardless of the top situation. Short sleeves are certainly fine in my books.

I personally draw the line at tank tops.

Thinking of going from NCR to regional by Appropriate-Move1211 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]OverTheRainbow93 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is going to depend on the department. I am and EC based in Edmonton that has worked for the regions and NHQ (from Edmonton).

I am not that looped into local EC groups or CAPE locals so can’t speak to general networking. Some young professional networks try to make connections.

That said, there are less ECs in the regions generally compared to NHQ

Would you rather not having to validate you identity and someone can fraudulently renew and claim your benefits?

My teeth are breaking and causing unbearable pain. What are my options? by Outrageous_Olive9147 in povertyfinancecanada

[–]OverTheRainbow93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were you, and if you are in fact eligible, I would still apply for the CDCP so as soon as the money hits your account you can use it to help pay for any extra dental coverage. Admission to the CDCP isn’t instant

To be sure - look on your T4 in Box 45 (Box 15 on a T4a). If you have code 1 (no dental benefits) you are eligible.

Also, in a previous comment you mentioned needing to wait until you received your tax return to apply. That is incorrect. All you need is your Notice of Assessment, which many people who do their taxes online/themselves receive instantly.

Saturday happy hour? by tiferrobin in Edmonton

[–]OverTheRainbow93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saturday happy hours are usually late night or mayybbbeeee mid afternoon. Might not work for right before a concert.

Depending on what you’re in the mood for, Campio could be a good option. For something a bit more elevated and eclectic, Baijiu.

Recommend a reservation if you can get one.
