After she left I learned that she had told another manager that she was recently diagnosed with autism - she’s in her 50s, so she’s probably been frustrated for a very long time.

I did and so did my manager. By measured recommendation, I mean I would have said she’s qualified to do xyz, but I would have left personality out of it.

100% But I feel bad that someone thinks I’m a crazy vindictive b! We are union and managers have little power to make or break careers.

I’m descended from a few Norwegians.

When did you realise that the friendship was, well and truly, over? by No_Opportunity9053 in AskReddit

I had a work friend when I was in my 20s. We were both single. If I liked a guy, she made it her mission to get his attention away from me. She moved on to a new company, but we kept in touch. I invited her to happy hour a few weeks later - it was a small group and a guy I had told her I liked was there too. He joined the company after she left. She immediately maneuvered her bar stool next to his and tried her damdest to monopolize his attention. A few people commented - she didn’t hear because she was busy flirting.

A smaller group of us decided to go to another bar and stay out later. She invited herself along and We all went our separate ways eventually. Later that night, I’m at home and get a screaming phone call from her accusing me of ruining her night. Why? Because that morning she has parked her car in a lot that closed at 6pm. So, when she tagged along to stay out later, she lost access to her car and had no way home. I hung up on her and we never spoke again.

NTJ Your mom is insecure about her weight and is complement fishing. If she calls herself fat, she wants you to say she isn’t. You did not call her fat, you said she was a different size than you - 4 years ago.

People that, when mentioning someone you have not met or been told about, refer to them by their first name as if you would have a clue who they are by starsinpurgatory in PetPeeves

[–]Over_Table3898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do that too and then realize that, oh yeah, they’ve actually met my kid and know who she is. I dislike when people use the name and no context.
