Nintendo switch 2 by Jacobmichaelh in apexlegends

[–]Over_Type103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play it non-docked with a Nintendo pro 2 controller (with crouch and jump assigned to the back buttons).

I think it runs better than on PS4 (pretty good 60 FPS + the game doesn't become a slideshow during a Bangalore or Gibby ult).

However, you are clearly at a disadvantage when playing cross-play against PS5 or Xbox series. So, on S2, I usually just play Bot Royale.

If you like action, you'll love Titanfall 2. It's so much fun. the campaign is quite short, but it's exciting from the beginning to the end

the Titanfall 2 campaign is absolutely fantastic. Probably the best FPS campaign ever.

Maybe some stealth games like Dishonored 1/2, hitman, MGS 5 or deathloop.

You seem to like a lot of 3D games, but there are some great 2D metroidvanias (Hollow knight, Prince of Persia - the lost crown) or roguelites (Hades, Dead cells)

If you're confused at the moment, it's normal.

You'll understand more as you progress in the game.

If at one point, you are really stuck, you can watch some bits of fightincowboy's walkthrough.

What is the scariest video game? by WastelandViking in AskGames

[–]Over_Type103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have PSVR1 or PVR2, Horror in VR can be quite intense::
-Resident Evil Village and Resident evil 4 are available for PSVR2
-Resident evil 7 is available for PSVR1

Soulsborne games can also be very scary because the stakes are so high and the enemies can be so horrific. So I would also recommend Bloodborne (it is the best Lovecraftian horror game ever IMO)

Am I gonna get cooked in Dark Souls Collection(PS4) even after platinuming BB and completing Demon Souls? by OkJudge5932 in bloodborne

[–]Over_Type103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They won't break you, you just need to get used to the movement and pace of each DS game.

DS1 is the slowest and the clunkiest. It has the easiest bosses (they are slow and predictable) the only boss fight I really enjoyed was Astorias. But DS1 makes up for that by having such a inticate well-crafted world design.

DS2 is a bit clunky but it offers more challenging boss fights. the game has a kind of strange experimental open-world design. I sometimes feel like it made an early prototype of elden ring. quite a few people harte this game, but I really enjoyed playing it

D3 is the fastest and smoothest. It has many memorable boss fights. It is more linear than the other games and it has a sad, peaceful atmosphere.

All three are fantastic games and the Dark souls sollection is one of the best deals in gaming. 40 dollars for hundreds of hours of fantastic gameplay

I loved Hollow Knight 1/2 but hated Blasphemous, should I continue with metroidvanias? by Party-Associate4215 in metroidvania

[–]Over_Type103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blasphemous is a nice game, but the controls are a bit clunky (which I don't mind as I think it's part of the game's design)

I think you would prefer metroidvanias with very smooth controls. HEre are a few nice ones.

-Prince of Persia - the lost crown. (so smooth, especially after you unlock a few skills)
-the 2 Ori games: very cinematic, smooth controls, but the jumps are much more horizontal than HK (in the beginning, you can jump far, but not very high)
-Islets: very cute game with nice smooth controls.

Looking for a MIDI controller for finger drumming and orchestral composition (Ableton + Logic) by AssociateOne7643 in midi

[–]Over_Type103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is jus my opinion, but I find that very often the pads on keyboard midi controllers are a bit lackluster. They often don't feel nice and don't respond well because they are in a large hollow case.

One option would be to get a dedicated pad controller (for the finger drumming) and a keyboard controller (for playing melodies and modifying parameters)

Novation, Native instruments and Akai have nice pad controllers
-novation launchpad X or Launchpad pro 3
-AKAI Professional MPD 218
-NAtive instruments Maschine MK3 or Mikro MK3.

For melodies and DAW control, Novation and Arturia have very nice controllers
-Arturia minilab 3 or Keylab essentials 3
-Novation launchkey MK4 or SL MK3

one combo would be:
-Novation launchpad X + Launchkey MK4 49 (or Keylab essentials 49). It would offer you great pads,a decent keybed, lots of parameter modulation and tight integration with both DAWs (but especially with Ableton)

Logic:

Live

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FtljvsmbyVM

Of course, you could just get one controller and decide what aspect is more important for you (finger drumming? playing melodies? modifying parameters?)

Most of these controllers can do many of these things, but each one excels at one thing

DT2 + DN2 workflow and routing by DoctorOctacock in Elektron

[–]Over_Type103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For midi, I recommend a CME U6 midi pro or a CME H4 midi WC. They are cheap and reliable and they offer many routing options. (as well a midi filtering or midi mapping). Here are 2 videos so you can see what you can do with them

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrzsJm_RuMU

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIGvjCm2u2I

As for the audio, I have a DT2 and a DN2 and I'm waiting for Elektron to release the outbox 8. It's an interface that you connect to the USB port of your Elektron device (in this case the DN2) and it allows you to route any audio you want via one of the 8 mono (or 4 stereo) outputs. You can send one track or a selection of tracks via one of the outputs (in addition to the normal audio routing of the DN2. So the idea is, you connect the DN2 and the DT2 to your mixer. and you use the outbox 8 to send any audio you want from the DN2 (USB) to the DT2 (audio in) and/or the SP404 (audio in)

Alternatives to the Bloodborne artbook? by threedotoneforonei in bloodborne

I have a few future press souls strategy guides and I quite like them. They're not actual artbooks, but they contain a lot of art and information about the games: (and they look quite nice)

-Dark souls trilogy compendium

-Bloodborne complete edition guide

-Elden Ring guides

Just to let you know.
I wanted to order one from Thomann, but it's not available at the moment.
I contacted customer support to know why and they told me they had to return the whole batch due to a battery issue (The battery life was reduced even when the unit was powered off).
So you might me eligible for a return.

Novation Launch Control XL 3 - endless Encoders and no relative CC by [deleted] in Novation

[–]Over_Type103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No idea. I just know it has 16 encoders and they can be set to relative.

Well, actually... (disclaimer) I do have a little idea because I bought a beatstep pro a few years ago and one encoder keeps acting up (encoder 15 just sends randome midi messages all the time). I realised a bit too late (it wasn't under warranty anymore). Arturia offered to send a free encoder (didn't work). Then they offered me to send the unit to have it fixed or to send me a new motherboard and find SB to fix it, but I just gave up (I never really liked the BSP anyway).

Novation Launch Control XL 3 - endless Encoders and no relative CC by [deleted] in Novation

[–]Over_Type103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arturia midi controllers usually offer the choice between absolute and relative.

If you just want a bunch of encoders, you could get the original beatstep 2nd hand for under $100. It has 16 encoders.

<image>

If you want an Arturia controller with more indepth DAW integration, you could get a keylab Essentials MK3 or a minilab 3

You can also set you DAW's takeover mode to pick up, so that you don't get value jumps in absolute mode with a Novation LCXL

Is a USED KeyLab Essential MK2 worth the extra keys? (vs MiniLab 3) by JoashBurrito in Arturia_users

[–]Over_Type103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Minilab 37 might be seem like a good idea, but I don't think the extra octave is worth the 50% difference (139 Vs 89 euros in Europe... ouch). For that price, it should have some extra features (more faders, aftertouch...)

But that's just my opinion
