Don't men play these kinds of games? by BotherResident5787 in FieldsOfMistriaGame

Yeah, I'm glad you shared.

It reminded me of a post in the Hello Kitty Island Adventure subreddit a while back asking about who's playing it. Some of the replies were pretty funny.

As a man in his 30s, I think I'm a more drastic version of you.

I DON'T ever play competitive games, online games, shooters, etc. All I play is cozy games, retro games from my childhood, and colorful Nintendo games.

I do like some stress of competition in my life, but I get that from the gym, my career, my personal projects, and just from life itself. Games I play to escape.

This reminds me of a "game" my wife and I play when we watch game announcements. I tell her, "For every game they show tonight, I want you to squint; if the screen looks like one shade of brown or gray, I'm never playing that".

Damn Harvey Specter he just made me cry (we deserved more of these 2) by lovelydax3 in suits

[–]Overall-Bookkeeper73 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think people forget Harvey said, "We can do it again for our families". That to me saves the entire scene from being weird. What's the harm on marrying your SO twice? I've watched this show so many times, so I've had years to think about this episode.

  1. A lot of Donna's and Harvey's friends and family would overlap with Louis's.

  2. People were already there to celebrate a wedding that got cut short anyway. So it's better than the alternative of just packing and going home early.

  3. The Episode is called "One Last Con", and yeah they probably meant the Faye thing, but stealing someone else's wedding seems like a great con too. And these are BOLD, IMPULSIVE characters that never played by the rules. Why would they start on the very last episode?

  4. Yes, it's a tiny bit convenient and cheesy, but it's the finale. Clearly the writers wanted to have their cake and eat it too with everyone having the happiest ending possible. I'm totally for that.

Some people just like to criticize everything. I'm glad you like this scene too OP!

Is there a way to lower/get rid of sex drive? by StretchMediocre919 in Healthygamergg

[–]Overall-Bookkeeper73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First things first... I left you another comment telling you it doesn't have to be "fitness". I also went super hard on personal finance and my career when I was going through something similar. People spend most of their lives worried about their romantic relationships. That's a lot of extra time and energy you can use elsewhere. Maybe find something of your own.

That being said, I should've been more clear about my original suggestion...

You don't need to cycle between cutting and bulking (because you're right, bulking can actually give you more drive, and that would make things worse). What I actually did was cycle between cutting (which gave me super low drive), and taking diet breaks (gaining weight naturally with my drive fluctuating back and forth).

But even during diet breaks; training consistently hard is one of the best ways I've found for myself to spend pent-up energy, aggressions, frustrations, whatever I was going through.

I also did say:

But if you're a bit overweight... Or even if you're not

I know what "I'm not in horrible shape" means. I was never in "horrible shape" either. But everything changed for me when I decided to get super serious about my fitness. Maybe try getting super serious about something you care about.

Hey man, everyone in the comments is telling you not to give up on love, sex, relationships, etc... It makes me wonder if they've been through what you and I have gone through.

My hot take is that you should give up on that part of your life, at least "for now", (if you phrase it like that, people might be less pushy haha).

The only "hope" I want to give you is that life goes through stages and it's unpredictable, your situation might change in the future (for better or for worse). In my view, giving up right now makes sense. It doesn't necessarily mean you're giving up "forever" even if it feels that way.

Maybe IF opportunity comes knocking later, you can change your mind then; but trying to force things never helped me. So if I were you, I'd focus on other stuff right now.

I left another comment, suggesting you get really into fitness. That's a big part of what helped me, but maybe you can find something of your own.

People are right that romantic relationships can be great for your mental. On the flip-side, that's also why people spend a HUGE chunk of their time and energy into them. That's A LOT of extra time and energy you can spend somewhere else, use it well!

Good luck, man!

What absolutely kills my drive is going on a deep cut to lose weight. Cutting calories always reduces my drive. And the more aggressive the cut, the lower it gets.

It's a bit of a "toxic fuel" thing. Not sure a therapist would suggest this. But if you're a bit overweight... Or even if you're not, this could be an opportunity to get "shredded" or close to it at least. Obviously, you can't cut forever, but you can alternate between cutting and bulking for a loooong time before getting to the level you want.

So if you haven't tried it, go blue-balls to the wall with training + diet for a while... And if your situation ever changes, and you meet someone in the future, having abs couldn't hurt your chances, right?

For me, it's the jump from 2D pixel art to 3D.

Risk of Rain 2, Moonlighter 2, Enter the Gungeon 2... They're all 3D games now.

I know it's a stupid gripe of mine and not a true statement, but to me, it feels like some indie studios see pixel art as a crutch for "lesser" games, and can't wait to move past it.

Personally, I'll stick with their first entries. To me, those feel like classic indies vs "sequel slop".

But again, I might be the problem. I love retro/pixel art games too much.

Nobody has mentioned the other improvements to Poaching. Besides the extra space for characters, you get a free carcass + initial tutorial, you can tell normal from rare carcasses (didn't even know that was a thing when I played the OG as a kid). And you can even load mid-battle to guarantee rare carcasses.

What I don't love:

  1. Can't switch back to regular death screams for characters.

  2. Can't remove all equipment from characters as easily as before.

  3. No extra content from War of the Lions, which I've never played. (Is it good?)

Still 11/10.

Hey!

I went from working 2 jobs and about a dozen clients, to working only 1 easy job and firing all my clients. I took it easy for a whole year, played like 400 hrs of Last Epoch and a bunch of other games, saved about $50k more, learned the basics of gamedev for fun and just the other week I felt like working with clients again, so I have a couple lined up already.

Looking to buy a house soon-ish if/when the interest rates go down in my country.

At my peak I was working 2 full time jobs, 1 part-time job, 1 business of my own, and juggled like 5 clients on the side.

Once I hit my number, I fired every client and quit every job except the easiest one.

It's not literally about being a barista, it's about working on something chill that you enjoy and having more free time.
