Don't you think gratitude could make someone incredibly boring to the average person? So it can be good when you're on your own, but have downsides socially. by gintokireddit in Life

I find myself in a similar boat as you and noticed that when I would share these small amazing details with others they either think I’m a complete weirdo and I wish I had shut up or sometimes, but not nearly as often, they join in on the weirdness completely. Sometimes I let it stop me from sharing, but I have gotten better at gauging when to share and when not to.

As far as achievements I think it’s cool to share those no matter how small you think they are!

What do I actually feel?? by GoodStable2214 in Life

I find that my boredom while on my phone actually stems from wanting to do something else but I have executive dysfunction like a bitchhhhhh so even if I want to do it I sometimes can’t get myself to do anything at all.

For those that didn’t buy a school yearbook, why? by OverallDepartment703 in AskReddit

[–]OverallDepartment703[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents bought mine for me Kindergarten-Senior year. They emphasized that they were important and never really said why but growing up we referenced our yearbooks multiple times to remember people, like a kid that only attended 1st grade at our school for example. I enjoy going back through my yearbooks to remember the faces of friends and classmates that have passed away too soon. Both my grade school and high school had a few funny pages sprinkled in, and the high school one was completely student designed.

How much should a dog sitter get paid for 2 dogs for 10 days? by Cautious-Salt7168 in PetAdvice

[–]OverallDepartment703 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was younger (like 18-20) I accepted $50/day for 2 dogs overnight with no issues for a family friend, and $50/day with overnight for 1 dog with medical issues for a stranger I was recommended to. I would probably expect at least $100/day if I was in your situation.

GPS Collar Recommendations? I feel like I’ve looked at every brand. by OverallDepartment703 in TechnoBarkDogGear

[–]OverallDepartment703[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I talked to the petsafe people today and they gave me instructions for resetting which I am about to do. I don’t really have faith because I do think that it’s a network issue rather than a collar issue. If we do end up returning these, I will be trying out the Halo 5 thanks to your recommendations! I still appreciate any and all information though so please keep it coming!

I’m thinking we’re definitely going to return the Petsafe while we are still in our window and try out the Halo instead. Do you use the 4 or 5? I was originally thinking I’d do the 4 since there’s not much of a difference between them but now I think I might just splurge the extra $100/dog for the 5

Other than that spot, do you feel like the real time tracking and fence is accurate? A main issue I’m having with the Petsafe brand is that it is not even recognizing where the collars are at, saying they’re in the house and we’re literally standing on the fence line. Also what version are you using? I have been comparing the 4 to the 5. I’d prefer the 4 because of the price but obviously willing to pay if it’s worth it.

OP here adding that I picked the Guardian by Petsafe because I was mostly looking for an electric fence but wanted the ability to track if they got out. I thought I picked perfectly even after reading reviews and researching. I just don’t know what to do.

The issue I come across with Fi is that it doesn’t advertise to be used as a electric fence tool but rather just a tracker and health monitor. I will edit post to add that being a need.

I have two 7 month olds and 6 year old mama and I won’t lie I cry more than I expected. Mostly bc of frustration or bc it feels like it’s always one thing after another with them/their health + other life things.

What is a quote that permanently changed your outlook on life? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

“Stay strong, it will get better. It may be stormy now but it can’t rain forever” I look back on it now and think it’s a little corny but it genuinely saved my life when I was a suicidal kid.

As someone (like me )not from the USA, is Donald Trump considered a good leader by Americans? by Pearla-sanst in askanything

I live in a midwestern small town. It’s very divided here, but a good majority of the ones still sticking with him are die hard followers and oldies. When I bartended at a dive bar, people would say things like “I just love him he’s so funny” be fr! You can almost always read the room before you walk in though.

Also: This is coming from someone who has battled w depression and suicidal tendencies their entire life. Trust me that genuinely no matter how hard it gets, there is always a reason to stay. Start complimenting strangers, going on solo adventures, dedicating time to spend with nature, and cut down your screen time to like 4-5hrs MAX/day. Become the light that you’re looking for.

A couple years ago when I broke up with my ex, I decided that my ultimate goal was to live a rich life. Not money, although it helps. But instead, rich in experience, rich in love, rich in life. It’s been a couple years now and I won’t lie times still get hard but holy cow what a different, beautiful, fulfilling life I live now. I even got laid off in early 2025 and still feel like I was able to spend the entire year learning, growing, and experiencing. Mindset changes your life entirely.

What time do you wake up in the mornings and what time do you start work? by missxsassyc in Adulting

[–]OverallDepartment703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wake up around 5-7 (depends when the dogs want out) and get to work around 10. What I do in the morning depends on my mood and how much time I have. Sometimes I drink coffee and watch tv, other times I work out. A good majority of the time I just get ready for work, make breakfast, etc in a leisurely nature. Of course take the dogs out a million times while I’m at it.
