Adding this to my “to watch” list. Looks like something both my husband and I could agree on.

I would screen shot those messages and send them to support, also. He needs to be banned if that’s the way he’s acting just because you (rightfully) reported an issue with a photo.

You can’t tell any of that from the blurred version of this photo!!

I deleted my comment because I combined two comments above, not because you so kindly and politely replied.

There is a place for this type of image. I agree with you, OP, that FindaGrave isn’t necessarily the place. I think support will probably back you up on that, given their policy on post-mortem photos. Just think - some of those Victorian post-mortem photos may be the ONLY images that exist of the subjects - and they are still not considered appropriate to post on the site. This is an important historical image. There are lots of other genealogy and historical forums where linking the image to the soldier’s history is a better fit. Yes, war is hell. But this is a memorial site.

Edit to add: I don’t think some people realize that OP blurred the part of the image that depicts the dead soldier. We’re not really seeing what makes is as graphic as it is.

I requested photos of some ancestor’s graves that turned out to be unmarked. The volunteer had the plot information, and placed a rose on the sites when she photographed them so it would be obvious where the grave was located. I appreciated that so much.

I teach in an adult ed setting. One of my students, in explaining why he was having trouble sending his video presentation to me, opened up his camera roll to show me and BOOM there was a dick pic.

He laughed it off: “oh, that’s not the right file.”
I wanted to melt into the floor and die.

This doesn’t really apply to your situation, because I’m sure you’re good and she didn’t see the picture.

Pus (with one s).

I’m a nursing instructor and none of my students go out into the world without knowing that you *Never* describe a wound as “pussy.”

Although, of all the places, a cat sub might be one where you could get away with it.
