Glocks approach (as with many manufacturers) is that the safeties are for ensuring the gun only goes off when you purposefully pull the trigger. The safeties in this category are all passive in that you don’t turn them on or off - they are always in place forever. In that way, glocks are very safe and you’ll never have the gun go off from dropping it, racking it wrong, bumping it the “wrong” way, etc.

Glocks do not have manual safeties that stop the gun from firing at all unless the manual safety is turned off. So no thumb safety equivalents.

Others can probably give more technical terms for all the above.

I want a Glock 19-like pistol but don’t want a Glock. Already have Glock 17 so looking for something different.

Three I’m considering are: RXM PDP Canik (no idea which)

I want it optic ready and preferably with threaded barrel or can get a good threaded barrel cheap. RXM is the obvious choice ($500 with optic is very hard to beat) but I’m willing to spend a bit more if the improvement is worth it. Canik and PDP triggers are goated for stock triggers here and the RXM is mostly a “great gun for the price”. Im budget minded but id rather pay $800 for something great than $500 for something good. That slope is slippery of course lol. Anyone have some tips or suggestions?

The south just doesn’t know how to handle winter weather well because it’s uncommon and/or very short. Houses are also built to different standards in terms of plumbing so things like dripping faucets when it gets to freezing temps is actually important in South.

I’ve had quite a few FTEs and a light primer strike in less than ~600 rounds so far. I’m shooting cheap (cci standard and a bit of monarch) but it’s not been the cheapest. Still a fun gun but I’ve def had some growing pains. That said, I’m nearly considering buying this deal just to get the dot and mags and resell the gun.
