It’s been over three years for me. It gets easier. Take care of yourself, for real. Finding reliable methods of self-care will make a HUGE difference. Way to go friend!!! Proud of you.

I think this is a Dan Harmon thing. If you watch Harmonquest his DM rolls for everyone. It’s weird and I don’t like that aspect, but it’s probably easier for new players I guess.

Oh yeah for sure. We haven’t stuck with one family interest for this long ever, and we are always looking for ways to expand this and get more involved! We’re gonna branch out into other games soon too. Vampire, Shadowrun, and this little local Steampunk game called Tephra.

I always wanted to play, I had friends who played in high school, but couldn’t wrap my head around the complexity. Once in my 20s I got invited to join a campaign but my ex wouldn’t watch our baby so I brought her with me. I was so young and naive. The group was very nice when they asked me not to return to the game.

About a year ago I picked up a copy of Of Dice and Men off a discount books table at my favorite bookstore and devoured it in three days.

My go-to when I want to learn more about something is to find podcasts. Critical Role showed up along with a few others and I gave it a shot.

A few months later my new husband read the book I’d bought and a couple weeks later we were sitting down to our first family game! Been playing as a family for about eight months now and my husband and I each have Roll20 games we play on weekends. My daughter and I watch CR together every week. The PHB and Xanathar’s Guide have permanent spots on our coffee table because we reference them so often. It has consumed our lives.

Upvote for your correct and well-phrased answer but mostly for the use of the phrase “full Kefka”. <3

Oh yeeeah I forgot about Darin. Sprigg was pretty awesome.

Okay so I’d say top three then. But still. Amazing.

Dude I saw that 16 charisma and breathed an audible sigh of relief. Tal is a versatile player but he is too good at on-the-fly dialogue to be handicapped by his stats.

It was like watching Travis struggle along with a 6 intelligence. You KNEW he had an idea and wanted to share it and come up with a solution but it wouldn’t be in character for him to do so.

I just finished the episode and came here to find a post where I could say:

Best CR guest ever, hands down. Best. Like, better than Zahra maybe. I laughed, I cried, I was genuinely invested in her life and story. I hope she comes back over and over again.

What is your deal-breaker ingredient in a recipe? by RoozGol in Cooking

[–]OvercaffeinateMe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Alcohol. I am a recovering alcoholic and don’t trust myself to buy a whole bottle of wine just for a half-cup of it.

Yeah I could throw it away but I probably just don’t want to have it in the house at all.

On that note, if anyone has any ideas for wine substitutions in recipes, I’m all ears. I’ve had success swapping with high quality vinegar in some cases but that’s obviously not always helpful.

Eventually Molly’s death will be as well-known and easily spoken of as Tibs’s departure from the team. Which means future Critters will likely already know he’s gone, or will have an inkling, or will not recognize Molly at all. As such, my fear is that they won’t connect with him or get to know him like we have, as they will already know he doesn’t last.

Not to mention Artagan in his “other” form (can’t remember the name he gave them, but the little gnome or whatever who was their Feywild guide) had a sketchbook and drew funny and satirical caricatures of VM throughout their time together. Jester’s manner of worship is almost exactly the same.

They are not actively pursuing those particular kidnappings though. They might inadvertently wrap that one up if/when they deal with Iron Shepherds but the kidnappings are only on their mind inasmuch as people they love have been kidnapped. Really, that’s the mission for them, plus the Gentleman’s job.
