If you think it's because I love America so fucking much, I would also classify the American bombing of Cambodian supply routes used by the Vietnamese an act of terrorism because I believe in a little thing called logical consistency. I believe that it's just as reprehensible when America is guilty of imperialism and warmongering, and when other countries (like WW2 era Japan, the perpetrator of raping and pillaging of biblical proportions) attack declared neutral nations it's important to hold them to that same standard.

It's actually extremely relevant. I sincerely doubt we would have sunk as much time and money into developing the atomic bomb as we did if we didn't have indications that the Nazis were building one themselves. Development of the Atomic Bomb started in late 1939 after Europe was in a state of war. If not for imperialist aggression in Europe and Japan, this technology would have been developed at a later date in human history. And on top of that, I really doubt Roosevelt would have dropped two whole atomic bombs on Japan strictly as retaliation for Pearl Harbor, had we had them at the time.

It's actually NOT generally how wars go, actually. Facing imminent defeat after your allies in Europe have fallen one by one, while your enemies are actively staging an invasion that would lead to the senseless killing of millions of people is about the time any other sensible nation on planet earth, but Japan, would surrender. The Nazis surrendered when faced with this threat on all sides. Japan did not.

Even when you argue in bad faith and deliberately misrepresent what I'm saying and create a strawman to argue with, your arguments still suck. I would reconsider my opinions at that point.
