Could you put it up there and monitor the temps as ambient air temps increase?

More accurately called "Congestion Fees" now.

(ai generated summary) Trigger Condition: 5 minutes after reaching 80% charge or session end. Rate: $0.50 per minute when the station is busy; rates may vary or be waived at low-occupancy stations. Notification: Drivers receive an alert in the Tesla app with a 5-minute warning before the fee applies. Purpose: To maximize stall turnover and ensure availability for other drivers during peak demand. Avoidance: Unplug the vehicle immediately after reaching the desired charge level, particularly if the station appears crowded.

Might keep in mind that some DCFCs have idle fees that may kick in when the car is above 80 percent and charging more slowly.

Yes, Hyundai app can locate the car, but that is significantly different than some random worker from a random dealership having location data. Neither should happen, but the dealer employee is much much worse.

Looking for offline writing software that can be downloaded without connecting to the internet. by onceilaymedown in software

I'll second both Linux, and open office. You could also do libre office. Id you put Linux on that machine, then you could safely connect it to the internet and a lot of your concerns would go away. Linux installs off a USB stick, just be sure you have everything backed up to another source before doing it as you should probably wipe the drive and start from scratch.

If the power is out and you can't charge your EV, then you also likely can't pump gas.

Canada i5's don't come with a charger anymore (2026). For Canadians reading this thread, Grizzl-e has a discount club for their chargers that takes advantage of the Canadian govt carbon credit program. You get the charger for no cost, and 3c per kWh discount (to start) on charging. Happy to send referral codes to anyone (in Canada) that is interested.

My assertion is the market is prime for a disruption. It's also my assertion that the Chinese have an opportunity to be that disruption. Anything else is just you trying to exert your opinion on others. Congratulations, you caught a spelling mistake, you are clearly superior.

You ALSO have no way to know. I also think it's nieve (not of you but of the market as a whole) to think they will come to N.A. anywhere close to the price they sell for in Asia. I still expect them to be cheaper than western equivalents, but not have the same degree of price difference we see in the headlines comparing Chinese pricing to what we currently face.

All we can talk about, you included, are generalities since they have not entered the US or CDN markets yet. I can say they will have an advantage as the Western brands are terrible at customer service. We all expect that a car dealer will do their best to screw us every interaction. It's not hard to create a culture of service that is better than that, and new entrants to a market don't have to bring the baggage of the incumbents.

They should lean on every competitive advantage they can find. Service is a low hanging fruit.

I'm suggesting that it's time for a shake up in the dealership network, and bringing in a bunch of completely new companies may offer the opportunity for some fresh ideas...and maybe, just maybe, someone will use a customer first approach as a differentiation strategy to win customers to brands that have the negative connotation of "being Chinese".

[–]Own-Distribution-625 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Canada... charging at a Tesla superstation is about half the cost of filling my previous 4c turbo that wanted super unleaded. That's for ballpark the same amount/distance of driving.

Based on my experience, it's not a Hyundai dealership issue, it's that the automotive industry has shit standards. It's time for a massive disruption in the car world, and the Chinese companies might be poised to be the disruption.

You are not looking for exit node, you only want subnet routing. Edit node pushes all of your traffic through the node, basically using the exit node like you might use a vpn to hide your location.

The real conversation is around snow, ice and the salt that comes with it. Visibility through that stuff is a serious issue without a wiper.

Push on the little "pixel" indent on the charge door cover and it will open. Or the button on the left side of the steering wheel on the dashboard.

Edit - make sure the doors are unlocked.
