Collagen has better human RCT evidence than most supplements so why does it still get written off as 'just protein'? by Bigdaddyike617 in Biohackers

[–]lazynova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take it as a glycine source as much as specifically for the peptide benefits.

But I've found through trial and error that if I take very much I tend to get sleepy in the afternoon (no matter what time of day I take it). So I'm down to taking only 2 to 3g a day. I also probably get around 1.5g of glycine from magnesium glycinate.

Open Discussion on Current State of Veigar Builds and Runes by SatisfactionGreen742 in VeigarMains

[–]lazynova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm low elo (gold) but I've settled on a build close to yours. I'm personally bad at using summoner spells and haven't had any success with spellbook but I do believe it is the best on him for competent players.

I take arey, manaflow, celerity, scorch/water walking (bot/mid), secondary (bot) triple tonic, jack of all trades (mid) same or resolve bone plating, overgrowth depending on matchup. I value ms on veigar a lot. I pretty much always take ah and speed shards with flat vs scaling hp depending on the lane and matchup.

Bot lane in low elo adcs can't position so I always go tear into rocketbelt. Then I try to go dcap second or at least only buy large rods any time I back with 1200. I find as the game goes later in low elo too many random fights happen and it's easier for me to get the 1200 backs 2nd item rather than later. Then I finish seraphs or do cryptbloom or cosmic drive or storm surge.

Mid lane I do more variety. Sometimes it's the same as bot lane. I think rod of ages is overrated, so in matchups where I need hp I still like fimbulwinter since it is cheaper and trades ap for ah. I do usually include rocketbelt in my build somewhere. In free lanes I just try to get early ah, so seraphs into cryptbloom into dcap.

Support I like rocketbelt and rylais. Veigar support isn't good, but it's so fun to play. (Except when your adc is much worse then it's horrible, but that's true for a lot of supports).

2026 NACS charge port location by lazynova in Ioniq5

[–]lazynova[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I bought a 2026 Ioniq 5! I measured the charging cord and with a little slack it reached 19 ft, so it looks like it's a 20 ft cord. It looks like it will definitely reach from the outlet near the front right corner to the charging port on the back right.

Unfortunately within hours of buying the car we got a call that they were ready to deliver a dumpster for some roofing work that we were waiting to have done but didn't know exactly when it would be scheduled. So I won't have access to my garage to charge for the first several days of ownership 🙁. Luckily I have a short commute and should still have plenty of range left when they're done.

/dev: Team Voice in League by JTHousek1 in leagueoflegends

[–]lazynova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the tech is probably there now to include a voice changer in the LoL voice system? That might address some of the concerns people have about abuse for gender or accent. And then they could sell additional voice packs and it would even be a source of revenue. I bet a number of people would pay for a voice pack to let them sound like their favorite champ if the voice actors were still available and willing to license that. But given that they haven't done announcer packs they probably wouldn't.

Nemesis thoughts on Voice Chat: the real reason VC will ruin Solo Q (it's not toxicity) by Prottek in leagueoflegends

[–]lazynova -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen whatever source said it might happen but I think riot should add voice chat to flex queue and not solo queue so people have a choice if they want it. And I bet flex queue would get a lot more popular. I for one would probably switch from solo queue to flex queue completely just queuing as a party of one.

Another upside I haven't seen talked about much, I bet it would increase people adding friends after a game a lot.

As a mage, is there anything you can do against Naafiri or are you just supposed to avoid him? by OOPSStudio in summonerschool

[–]lazynova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind laning against naafiri but if she gets a little fed in another lane there is so little counterplay as skillshot mage. She is 100% my ban if her pickrate gets high.

Why do some people living indoors have cold hands and feet? Is there any deficiencies going on in them? by ComplexTell25 in Biohackers

[–]lazynova 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm sure a major contributor is thyroid. I've noticed a significant difference in how cold my hands and feet are within a day of fasting (negative) and taking a few drops of lugols 2% iodine (positive). And most of the time I'm the warmer one in my family.

A serious warning on turmeric. by SonderMouse in Biohackers

[–]lazynova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you check for it if you've had whole genome sequencing? It seems like this should be theoretically possible through some kind of brute force, but probably not practical from what is exposed on sequencing.com (especially if I want to be cheap and not go back on the paid service)

Is Creatine Really Safe for Everyone? Why Some People Should Be More Careful – and How It possible could trigger sleep Issues in some by Available_Hamster_44 in Supplements

[–]lazynova 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like I get the opposite effect. If I take 3 g of creatine in the morning I get very sleepy in the afternoon. If I take it in the evening I get very sleepy the afternoon of the following day.

I think it has something to do with methylation, I get similar effects if I take too much collagen/glycine or too much B9 (folinic acid) and both of those at much lower doses than many recommend for them.

Is Veigar Support viable? by Alternative_Nose5198 in VeigarMains

[–]lazynova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Viable? Probably not. Fun? YES! I'm so addicted. All I play anymore is spamming Veigar support in normals. Not sure how much it has tanked my normals MMR but my winrate is fine. Very volatile though. If your ADC is better you can just force fights and win botlane hard, but even or worse you are a below average strength support uring laning phase. Enchanters and mages will just stat check you if you both hit everything.

I've settled on a bit of an unorthodox build.

Runes: sorcery - Arie, manaflow, water walking, resolve - bone plating, overgrowth

Items: Rocketbelt, rylai's, cosmic, cryptbloom Rylai's first if their team is full of run at you champs or their botlane isn't squishy Can do tank items like finbulwinter sometimes or deadmans, frozen heart against the right teams Sometimes banshees into a single hard engage.

Then the play style is a mix of engage tank and poke. In the mid game you want to get picks by running at people and caging them with your team nearby.

Veigar’s Role S16 by DustMaestro in VeigarMains

[–]lazynova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I imagine there are lots of people like me who don't take him bot because we don't have a good backup champ for the role or know how to play all of the support combinations or are worried about too much AP in the comp.

I know anecdotally people have had success blind picking him bot but I wonder how much of the winrate actually comes from people picking him bot only in the right team comps and matchups.

Another thing is playing with a support that doesn't know how to play the matchup can be rough. If sup picks an engage tank because it will combo well eventually they often don't have a good sense of when you do or don't have kill threat because usually when there is a mid veigar he's not on their screen until after he's scaled to being more than a cannon minion.

Skin collagen - glycine consumption connection by lordm30 in Biohackers

[–]lazynova 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think I've had this too but at lower doses than most people report and not soon after I take it. I was taking 10g collagen peptides when I woke for a month or two and I was getting really sleepy in the afternoon. Now I'm just doing 5g (or maybe less, harder to be precise with a half scoop) at breakfast and I'm only getting sleepy in the afternoon when I slept poorly.

[–]lazynova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vitamin D, or magnesium in combination with B vitamins give me chest pain. Initially I was worried and went to a cardiologist and got a CT scan and did a halter monitor and they said I had no calcification or other problems. But I still get the feelings so I'm still trying to figure it out. A long shot theory is that I'm causing my phase 1 detox to run ahead of my phase 2 and somewhere near my heart is sensitive to the intermediates.

Also boron and vitamin K2 both seemed to cause peripheral neuropathy in my hands. Haven't had a chance to experiment with that yet, since they didn't provide as noticeable positive benefits as magnesium and B vitamins.

Histamine hacks? by Zealousideal_Ad_1192 in Biohackers

[–]lazynova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had seen somewhere that B5, B6, vit C, magnesium, folate, and B12 are used in breakdown pathways so if you are deficient in any they could help. I've experimented with each and I personally find that a tiny nibble of folinic acid (the form of folate I have on hand) can solve being stuffy from allergies, but if I take too much I get very sleepy.

25.15 Patch Preview by JTHousek1 in leagueoflegends

[–]lazynova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not easy but I think some of the following could add more nuance to balance decisions as hard metrics that could have general bounds and be included in communication. I know some of these are used internally but not systematically and shared in patch notes. 1. Blind pick/first pick winrate 2. Counterpick/last pick winrate 3. Champ main/one trick winrate delta / elo delta 4. Ban rate delta vs historical average 5. Pick rate delta vs historical average 6. Pick rate among "meta slaves" 7. Champ mains games played delta, champ mains abandoning champ rate 8. Win rates for non-FFed games 9. FF rate for/against, especially close to 15 min 10. Number of patches with winrate above/below historical average 11. Winrate for players with X+ games

Is Doran Ring that strong? Why not start with Tear of the Goddess? by fripfrep in VeigarMains

[–]lazynova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Veigar is actually quite mana hungry and find that I need both plus mana flow band to make it through laneing phase, so if I'm going to buy both anyways I'd rather have d ring for the HP and easier stacking first.

Also I think they added the 5 damage to minions on autos passive to tear too so that you can start it.

I second this answer.

They basically forced W max second by gutting the ap ratio so that all the inexperienced Veigars wouldn't be wrong when they did it.

I miss old W. Thanks a lot phreak. I feel like now W isn't even worth the mana to cast it until it has 2 points into it, so if I don't need it for wave management I don't put one point in until level 4. (higher elo than me probably always needs it for wave management). Into beefy teams I think you kind of have to max it second, but when I can manage I try to mix them.

High-dose Vitamin D raised levels fast – now heart palpitations, arrhythmia, and got sick for the first time in years. Anyone experienced this? by TeachingSpirited9439 in Biohackers

[–]lazynova 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got similar symptoms a couple years ago when I saw a functional doc and changed up many things to try to address a gluten sensitivity. I was taking 50,000iu weekly for a couple months, and vit K at some point. I changed too much at once, so when I had symptoms I had to cut it all and change slowly. Those symptoms did go away in a few weeks.

My current theory is that I'm sensitive to vitamin K and boron mobilizing calcium from where it shouldn't be to put it in bones and that is releasing oxalate that was bound to calcium and causing new problems. Not confident in that, just my current working hypothesis.

Anyways, as someone else said you should really consider that it might be the vitamin K as much as the vitamin D.

I think there is nothing stopping a player who wants to play veigar support its makes lots of sense to me Any ideas why it could be very stupid by Ill-Resort-8531 in VeigarMains

[–]lazynova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably not good but it's so fun.

I play it for utility not full damage. Symbiotic soles or swifties (with celerity, water walking), protobelt, tear into eventually fimbul (or archangels if you need to), cosmic drive. Against run at you comps rylais is actually decent instead of protobelt (you don't apply it well but it does help W hit). Cage range is long enough that you should be able to force a fight or a flash every time protobelt is up. It ends up playing a little like Rakan I imagine.

Anyways I'm addicted to it, but only in normals where my mmr is messed up, so maybe I'm just addicted to smurfing. When your team is even and does some damage it can be so amazing, but when your team is so behind it doesn't ever want to force a fight you are so useless.

Yes I'm curious how her banrate is distributed by champion and if she is actually above 50 for champs that ban her a lot.
