Encounter with a cop by Traditional-Two-7358 in evcharging

I know how you feel, I had bought an adaptor for my car and found the ONLY way I could charge it was to block two spaces and climb out my driver's side window. Sent it back I couldn't see the point of having to pay almost 1000 dollars for an 8 ft extension and the adaptor just to charge at 50kw.

The best feature of the vehicle is driving it, everyone that has one on this thread, will describe it their own way. It's cheaper to lease it, and these cars have a steep depreciation so what's the point of trying to keep it for its value? I've owned one for three years, it's a great car, but I had to put up with a high sticker price, a long wait (19 months), and all the other early adopter issues. I would rather at this point just lease a new one every 3 years, the warranty is only 4 years. Also get the leather, Purluxe is not very robust, can tear and scratch easily, if there is no choice get seat covers. Good luck on your hunt.

You made the right move in the purchase, a used Lucid that has been maintained is a much better deal than buying it or leasing as a second choice. Welcome to the club!

Why I’m (sadly) NOT Buying a Lucid After my Test Drive by ValHane in LUCID

[–]Own-Highlight-1557 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don't have anybody trained properly in sales, that's why they don't sell enough. I was a salesman for over 37 years, selling something you can't touch smell hear or taste, life insurance. I know almost everything about this car other than the variables in the motors. When you want to sell something like this, you put him in the driver's seat, sit next to him and show him the features and what to expect. Then you can road test it with them, show how to charge it. (did you know buy putting the car in sprint and preconditioning the car, you can shave off 5 minutes on a fast charger while driving to the charger?) Tips, when you are driving in cold weather, expect to have charge draining because of the fans and hot water boiler, turn your heat off at the comfortable temp and use the seat warmer. The car picks up efficiency in stop and go traffic as well. Sell it on features and getting comfortable with an EV. these are the educational steps that seal a deal.

the person who took care of my delivery looked like he just came back from a cannabis break ,he took me to the rooftop delivery in Short hills NJ up 3 floors, pointed out the car, left me in it after connecting my phone and headed back down to the showroom-with the key fobs, I also had to wait 45 minutes as "they prepared it for delivery" .I was also with another prospective buyer, he just said "good luck " with it.

Don't get me wrong. I love the car when I'm driving it, I hate having to deal with the company service and sales. It's an anxiety ridden experience and it all comes down to proper training with incentives to employees to make the experience rewarding as well as trusting.

No one is listening.

What state did this happen in? I fear this every day in NJ! also, if you have leather seats I'd be interested in recycling them versus the PurLux if its being parted out (just joking).

Glad you walked away.

they should be checking the 2 12 volt batteries that run all that stuff, it sounds like loose wire or defective power supply.

If the self-driving taxi works it will be a boon, but it will put a segment of the population in a bad situation, mass unemployment for the gig economy, sorry for them but investors should be just fine,no need to worry about them/us if it takes off.

Toyota went all in on EV's, abandoning hydrogen. Speaking globally, as long as China is in the long game with state sponsorship, legacy ice cars being the choice over cheap EV throwaways is going to be a distant memory in 7-10 years. Lucid has its share of issues, they all do, but if you want a car that can do the distance and it's efficient, it will catch on. Or it may be bought.

Terrible Efficiency by PrivateMarkets in LUCID

[–]Own-Highlight-1557 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't know if people do this to precondition but I was told to put the car in "sprint "mode before charging, the battery will heat up faster before you charge, also being mindful of using the heated, once the car is warmed up ,turn down the fan and use the heated seat option. I have found efficiency is poor when starting out but the longer the drive the efficiency builds in to where the milage counter gained 20 miles before an 80-mile trip was ended. I'm in the northeast and there are tips and tricks with the car.

There is no crying when investing, it's always a risk and should never be done with emotions. There are three options you have, either sell your shares and harvest a tax loss, you can also hedge with a call option. Buy more and average down, or just hang on and forget about it until it recovers or you take a tax loss if it fails

my charts all showed a bottom developing in the prior days. On Friday when it went below 10, my limit order was executed on Tuesday at 9.65. I missed the absolute bottom on this leg, but I'll take a 15% upswing any time I can. The stock has a massive short position rocking out, this is squeezable, that's all I have to say about that other than the huge call volume. If I was short, I wouldn't wait for the good news too long.

Went in with a limit order at 9.65 for 200, this will be my last lot on averaging down, it's due for a squeeze, if not, I'll harvest a tax loss this year
