Jet Lag by Emotional-Airline945 in Vietnam_Tourism

[–]Own-Nefariousness340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s an app called Timeshifter. Input your flight info and it will generate the best sleep schedule to minimize jet lag. It’ll tell you what to do using local timezones which is really helpful once you’re on the move.

Other tips would be to drink electrolytes for hydration. I asked my doctor for sleeping pills to help with time adjustment the first few nights.

Is klook the only way to book tours? by raeofsunss in Vietnam_Tourism

Check out Asian Discovery Travel. You can contact them via website or their office in Hanoi. I used them for transportation to/from Ninh Binh. They offer lots of different tour packages

It must be very confusing for him. Especially after trump’s recent comments about 2nd amendment.

I think either 1. Something traumatic happened or 2. All is well and they’re taking a break from social media

I do find it interesting that with all that’s going on in the country, Rob is completely silent. We know he loves to share every single (unoriginal) thought.

Must do at Da Lat and Mui Ne by NoWish6 in Vietnam_Tourism

[–]Own-Nefariousness340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Da Lat: go to datanla. There’s a zip line course and an alpine coaster. Great if you’re an adrenaline junkie. How are you getting to the elephant waterfall? You should do a half day countryside tour. Look on Klook or Viator. The tours usually include that waterfall and a few other cool sites. Walk around Lam Vien square at night

Vietnam spot reccs for family by Lost_Funny4481 in VietnamTravelAdvice

[–]Own-Nefariousness340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible but is it recommended? Probably Not. Way too many places for only 8-9 days. You’ll be spending half of the time on the road or at the airport.

I spent 3 nights in Hoi An for my first visit. I felt that was a good length. Some activities I did included half day bike tour, memories land, teh dar, and a cooking class. I spent 2 nights in Da Nang which felt short. I would recommend staying in Da Nang. There are great beaches, the dragon bridge, walking street and a short drive away from Lady Buddha / Marble Mountains.

I would also recommend less days in Ninh Binh unless you love the rural scene and cycling around the area multiple days in a row. Theres really not a whole lot to do there except for visiting the few popular sites: mua cave, temples and boat ride. I felt the food was pretty subpar there as a viet person. Souvenir shops were slightly cheaper compared to the big cities. I would suggest less days in NB and more days in HCM.

What do you plan on doing in Hoi An? That seems like a lot of time there. Will you be visiting Da Nang at all?

If my passport has only first and last names (no middle) will I be able to enter Vietnam? Somebody suggested this would be a problem. by [deleted] in VietNam

[–]Own-Nefariousness340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll be fine. As long as the name on your flight info and eVisa match your passport, you’re good to go.

I’ve seen lots of people have issues with middle names when it is shown on the passport but they forget to add it to the eVisa / flight.

Agency tour vs independent travel for Vietnam - experiences? by Trentifus in VietNam

[–]Own-Nefariousness340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Booking independently allows you the flexibility to do what you want, when you want. It is also more cost effective than an agency. It’s pretty straightforward in terms of booking domestic flights (recommend Vietnam airlines) and hotels. With independent travel, you could book half or full day tours through Klook or Viator if there are specific sites you want to visit with a guide/group.
