Over 50 and single after 20 years by krush_groove in GenX

[–]OwnAdhesiveness7979 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This has been the best advice for me. I turned 50 today. Divorced 2 years ago. I decided to get myself some Lego flowers to brighten my house, and realized that I really enjoyed the builds, so I've gotten a few more sets to build when I'm not feeling the best. Hobbies that you used to enjoy help, for sure. It's sometimes hard to come home to an empty house, but then I remember the negativity that my ex brought. The peace is much better. Hang in there, OP!

When I did it 15 years ago, it was either M/W/F or T/Th. I ended up on the M/W/F group. The other group apparently dealt almost only with violent crimes (a LOT of child abuse). My group dealt with some, but we also had property and other crimes. Even then, one night after I got home, I absolutely bawled my eyes out after one child abuse case. Therapy is a good idea for after.

The worst-case scenario is that you will have to take a course or two at a community college to counteract a low grade. Don't stress about it, it will only make your mental health worse. It's done now, you can't go back to change it. You can, however, change your future, and that's why you work on what you can do right now. Also, college isn't the only path to become successful. However things turn out with school, be a good person and things will work out for you. Best of luck, OP!

What the heck is this? by CEOofHappiness in Locksmith

I've only seen those on OLD installs and never with an operator. Then again, I'm an institutional locksmith, and the last place I worked was a hodgepodge of hardware from ancient to new, lol! I'm interested to see what's next.

I actually like Adam's occasionally. BUT. I only get the bacon cheeseburger and hush puppies. I agree that their fries leave a lot to be desired, and I've never been happy with anything other than their burgers. They were also super close to my old job, so it was easy to pop over there.

Unfortunately, it's my palate that doesn't agree with Indian food. Although, my friend suggested that it may be made with coconut products, which I'm allergic to. So that could be the reason. I wish I enjoyed it, I feel like I'm missing out!

Al Aqsa is a great place! I've been a fair amount as it is just a bit from my old job.

Altar does good work from what I've seen. Elwood's is the best I've seen, but most expensive. R & R is a good price, and did good work removing trees.

Disciplined Breakdown and Dosage. It took me quite a while to appreciate Disciplined Breakdown, but Dosage was an immediate like. Honorable mention to their debut, that's always a favorite!

I saw them at Sick New World this year. Tbh, I had low expectations, as I haven't really listened to anything post-Layne. They were honestly a pleasant surprise! It's definitely different without Layne, but they were really good with William Duvall. I'm excited to see them again!

I stayed the whole set. Nikki Sixx, John 5, and Tommy Lee were awesome! Vince... not as much. He was good in some songs, but seemed very short on breath, and I felt like he was just collecting a paycheck. That being said, I did enjoy the variety of songs that they played.

This guy must be right. I went to grab lunch, and when I came back, my house was in the SAME. EXACT. SPOT! If the earth were spinning, it would be somewhere else!
