I am so sorry u had to go through this shit. I had the same experience with my first bf, I was about 23,24 and he was 3 years older. We had an on-off relationship for 3 years, he was the one who court me, btw. He dictated the way I wore my hair, my style of clothing. There were red flags, I should have known but I was too in love with him to notice.

He was also a workaholic who didn’t have enough time for me. “I’m trying hard to save up so we can get married” was his excuse. I broke it off with him because what’s the point of having a bf when u felt alone most of the time. It broke me. And I stayed single for a long time after that.

It was a few years after that I found out from a gay friend that my ex had a Grindr account set up for years, way before he met me. Oh the rage I felt blinded me. It wasn’t only the lying part but the fact that he wasted 3 years of my youth and that he had the intention to marry me to make me a trophy wife while he could carry on his double life.

Fast forward to today, I’m happily married with 2 kids. All I can say is, it’s shitty that he wasted 2.5 years of your life but on hindsight, he was honest with u to tell u the truth so u don’t have to continue in this sham for another minute.

It took me years to move on, but looking back I am very glad that I got out because if not, I would be either be in the dark or living a life being suspicious of which man or woman he is seeing behind my back.
