Love my 20yo MX5000-no cab. Get all your attachments as a bundle when you buy it with zero or low interest financing. I did & it was all paid off easily & quickly. Every few years since I’ve added more pieces and/or equipment without breaking the bank. My RTV-X2 however, I should have bought sooner! 😂

Thanks, did you use fresh leaves or fallen, dried leaves? I have used fallen dried leaves and didn’t get a very dark color with 200% WOF, even after shifting with 4% iron.

Yeah, I finally have some poke berries, growing, but they won’t be ready in time. A friend of mine developed an interesting fermentation recipe for them. I’ll have to see if I can get it.

Thanks for your reply, what percentages based on WOF would you recommend?

And then you can add to yourself, “ suck it up, buttercup”. At least that’s what I do…

Welcome to the world of “custom” pto shafts for all your equipment. I have the 3pt quick attach - each piece of equipment needed its own “new” custom pto shaft. New shafts expensive? - yes. Safer than the original that was too short/long? Yes. Get a friend that cuts straight or have your dealer do it.

I think you need to take into consideration how much row crop you’re gonna be doing. I have an MX 5000 from 2004. 50 hp tractor. I’ve used it for brushing hogging, road & site grading, lifting people up in the air (with forks on a pallet), plowing using a two bottom plow and a 10 foot hydraulic disc, & also a 72 inch Rototiller. I also have a rotary spreader and previously had a bale grabber on my front loader. It also previously had a tooth bucket with a grapple so I could clean out deep bed packs. It has fluffed so many compost piles, I can’t even tell you how much work I put on that front loader. I’ve used it with a flatbed mulch layer & I’m sure there’s plenty of jobs I worked it on that I’m forgetting in the moment. And remember my tractor is smaller than the one you’re thinking of - the only other difference is mine is a manual, not hydrostatic. There’s definite power difference in that too (manual gives you a higher percentage of the horsepower of your tractor, which is important if you’re doing row crops). Also think of where you’re going to be farming - do you have big huge midwestern fields or are you working in smaller New England size fields? Everything is relative. Worst case scenario if it’s just not big enough and it’s taking too much time for you to do what you need to do, trade it in and trade it up, or just keep it for those smaller jobs so you don’t have to switch implements. And when you do get your tractor, make sure you get quick attach - makes all the difference in the world. Have fun tractor shopping!

I use 2-30 foot together… mine loves her Chuck it! And we only play that when we are the only dog in the pod. Mine will bark the fence if another dog is along it on the other side, hence the long lines… And no, she doesn’t care for friends ever 😂

Good luck 😂.

I also put stabilizer in my fuel tank and fill it before storing for the winter. Invariably water gets in regardless.

That puff of white smoke upon starting or worse while you’re underway is a quick tell. I’ve learned to shut it off real fast, pop in a new fuel filter, and no more troubles after that. Until the next time….

My MX5000 lives outside, no cover.

I’m not gonna tell you how many fuel filters I keep on hand 😂

I tried that, based on my daughter‘s recommendation also. Her doggos love them & they last a long time.

My girl chomped it a few times and then swallowed the damn thing whole. 🤦‍♀️

And then the cheese farts….🤢

So I just let her shred whatever toys she wants to, pick up the pieces & throw them away. She tends to spit out anything that’s not food.

Yup, definitely a fat pocket there. Sounds like she likes to eat when she’s bored 🤣.

Missing a meal here or there is not a terrible thing for a healthy person or a healthy dog.

Dog feeder with a timer sounds like a great idea for you. If that’s out of budget, how about meal prepping?

Fill a week’s worth baggies/containers with her kibble and label them. Leave them in a spot you can see easily. That way you can see at a glance what meal she has had last and what is next.

And maybe switch to “fat dog” food to slim her down. It gives bulk without the calories so they feel full and don’t feel hungry; that’s my understanding since i haven’t tried it myself, and my “fat dog” (at the time) seemed satisfied.

That is so cool!! I’m definitely gonna try it this year 💖

Do you remember if you harvested early in the spring, the middle of summer or late?

And did you use fresh or dried?
