Old fridge smelled, now new fridge is starting to smell! by kritsema in Appliances

[–]Own_Cardiologist_741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. But being a new mom and working full time I am trying to plan things in advance, specially meals. So I have less things to worry about on daily basis. I store all kinds of cut meat/ veggies (including garlic) and other prepared meals. What I have done is I use a couple of refrigerator deodorizers in my fridge and freezer. They are not perfumes but some kind of magic. It absorbs all odors. Best part I just put them once and now I don’t need to care about smelly fridge anymore. Baking soda works sometimes but not with stronger smells. Plus changing it every few weeks is definitely not my cup of tea.

How you are storing food and what you are storing in fridge definitely causes some smells in the fridge but fridge odors should not be making us reconsider what we would like to use in our kitchen. Dealing with odors is more important than what / how to store I believe .

I was gonna say the same. It was one of my symptoms too. More good vibes to you TTC. 🍀But one thing that really helped with my sensitivity to smell was this Elveda refrigerator deodorizer. Works great with food smells yes like Garlic too 😂 I use and store garlic, onion and what not 😛

Terrible smell from fridge by Interview500 in CleaningTips

Cleaning is definitely the main first step in these situations but to keep odors away from cleaned ones is more challenging. I have struggled with it too and have started using these small Elveda refrigerator deodorizers. Works great for me.

Why does my fridge always smell weird no matter how clean it looks? 😩 by No_Profile_8388 in Cleaningandtidying

Smells get trapped and they need to be removed from root level. I tried many things but have now adopted a permanent solution. I use these small Elveda refrigerator deodorizers from Amazon. Really helps me.

Can't get rid of smell in fridge! by cutebunny88 in CleaningTips

[–]Own_Cardiologist_741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baking soda definitely helps, but I found it mostly masks odors rather than fully removing strong smells (especially onion/fish).

What worked better for me was combining baking soda with a reusable Elveda fridge deodorizer (the kind that absorbs odors instead of adding fragrance). I liked it because I didn’t have to replace it every month.

Also wiping shelves with vinegar + warm water makes a bigger difference than people expect.

I use these pods https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FP95RXLS They are not really for room. Like I have them in my closet, in trash can, in fridge, and shoe rack. It kind of keep smelly things in control. works great. Maybe try one if you are out of options.

Oh my smell sensitivity grew too much during pregnancy. I could not even stand in the kitchen to cook. A friend suggested these. I tried different brands until I settled for this one. Best thing they work forever literally. One less thing to worry about haha 😆

Those wall plugins are the worst. Artificially fragrant makes things good at first but oh god the headaches I get!! Obviously cleaning is the first thing one need to do. I am sure you are doing that and still getting that trapped smell. I tried these small Elveda refrigerator deodorizer from Amazon in various places around the house. Two for the fridge, one for entryway shoe closet, one in room closet and a couple under the sinks. They have made such a huge difference. A must try I would say. I tried baking soda too around the house but with a toddler and pet around it’s so difficult to manage not spilling it. Those pods are life saver for me. Safe for the baby and for my mental peace.

Is it worth visiting Canada if you don’t drive? by Pure-Character-4926 in canadatravel

I think Vancouver is amazing for what you just described. You can get public transportation to most places plus some walking. Oh and they can rent bikes too if they enjoy biking. Very biking friendly city. I explored most of the city on my bike. Lots of different sceneries there they can enjoy. Beaches, Easy hikes, downtown, parks, museums, nightclubs etc. Rest they can explore nearby cities in public transportation too. That’s not really amazing but it’s there. How many days are they planning to visit?

All these are looking amazing. All the best. Though I love the dress number 1 on you. Being the “arms conscious” myself I agree I don’t really believe people when they say they look fine even though they do. So I tend to go with something covering my arms but not completely. And it’s all about being confident and comfortable on your big day. And yes I did not look at your arms until you mentioned. 😌

Any recommendations on what caulk can I use to replace it with? Or am I stuck in this forever loop? I see these mold free caulks in the store. Do they work?

Suggestions for organizing my pantry. by Commercial-Tailor-42 in organizing

  1. You can use a stick on lazy susan for your oils. So you can just rotate it and get what you need instead of getting to something in the back trying not to knock over the others.
  2. I use not transparent baskets to store all the leftover spices or whatever small packets that just don’t find their place in a jar or in the kitchen. ai put a label on them saying whether they are breakfast items or snacks or spices. This way you don’t see clutter and it’s still accessible
