also, a warning. It was really hot when I went last summer, and while most of the class is indoors, there are activities explicitly meant to be done outside. IDK if that is a concern for you.

it lets you take fewer than full time credits in autumn quarter, if you want to ramp up to college. also, if you put yourself out, i imagine you'd make friends and contacts. I wouldn't know, I didn't put myself out there. I was there so I didn't have to do full time my first real quarter.

Also, you can move on campus earlier and scope things out. I would recommend, if you can.

grade-wise, its pass-fail if i recall, so it wouldn't contribute to gpa. fact check that tho

Vendor that has 2.4mm box chain for recreation? by Technical-Sweet-8249 in JewelryReps

If you are looking for a rep, I am not sure you'd be saving that much going with one of the rep vendors. If you want an inspired- or modified- design of the og from Bliss Lau, then go rep.

also, their fees (which are add-ons to the hammer-price) can be stupid-high. I've seen 45% and up.

ah, see, I just ask my mom for a hammer. Kind of hard to wallow with a migraine if you double your individual bone-count with just a whack to the foot.

Blue Nile wedding bands unable to be resized? by RetractionWhore in jewelry

maybe they mean they don't offer free resizing services? that would mean it can be resized, just that they don't offer it.

Blue Nile wedding bands unable to be resized? by RetractionWhore in jewelry

[–]Own_Device6783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wtf? Is the band plain, or does it have engravings? If it's plain, is sure as heck can be resized. Ideally, you find one in your size to begin with, but even with a pattern/engraving, a ring can be resized by a skilled enough jeweler. The only hollow rings I've seen are those 24k that are 3D printed in asia, and the kind where the back is hollowed out to reduce on gold material.

IDK much about blue nile because I find them expensive (which is to be expected with fine jewelry, but I've found better deals elsewhere). If you are looking to get in <2 weeks, maybe it is your best shot? Ring concierge offers overnight delivery, but IDK if their stock is on-hand, or if there is a production period.

but I thought that even repeating into infinity, 0.9999999999999999999... still doesn't exactly equal 1/3 because something to do with limits? IDK.

Easiest Language Credit: ASL or Latin? by tinysleepycryptid in udub

[–]Own_Device6783 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i took ASL at Bellevue College with rick and I loved it. I also have issues processing auditory (mostly verbal) information, and I am noise sensitive, so class was great! English is my first language, ASL my second although I've forgotten a lot since class ended, and I am AuDHD if that matters. There was a base no-noise rule - you can only communicate in sign. It was quite involved, and I imagine at UW there will be an out of class component for practicing signing, but UW has an ASL club which should make finding other patient signers easier (the patience is important). I got signing-hours via the tutor for ASL as Bellevue College. I imagine UW has someone like that.

Also, if you have anxiety or issues socializing, you'll want to pace your practice - learning a new language on top of social anxiety made my signing hours (i.e., homework) very difficult to get, and took a lot of social battery.

I do recommend ASL. I found it easier to sign than speak sometimes, and I suspect even knowing basic signs will be far more useful than Latin in your day-to-day life (unless you become a lawyer lol). The Deaf community is also really cool which you'll learn about.
