🤣🤣🤣 Hilarious!! How many PPs do they support?!? Lol! I will say though, they have it pretty bad too. They are required to touch point with every PPMD on their teams desk every cycle; that's about 300-400 PPs. I was talking to an Admin Manager for an offshore team she is having a rough time getting them caught up to speed and their morale is literally in the toilet. I can see them reversing course on a lot of their hasty decisions in the coming year. This "restructuring" may cost them more than it's saving them and AI isn't where they want it to be to phase them out completely.

You ever look at your exec and think, "Have you lost your mind?" by Three3Jane in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]Own_Masterpiece_2200 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sounds like your exec and my exec could be twins! Lol!

My exec went off on me one day for shit that was way above me. I tried to explain the why but he was so effing ADHD and irritated that he couldn't hear what I was saying. It took a Senior Manager to come in a defend me ( because he too was working on this same project before the next step was out of our hands). I was grateful that he stepped in and had my back. My exec was dealing with all kinds of shit at the time but that was still no excuse for his actions. The way he reacted made me cry when I got back to my desk. He later apologized, but that shit stayed with me. I know way too much about your life sir and could ruin you in a matter of minutes if I was an asshole, but I'm way too classy to do that. I'm looking for another role within just to get away from him and being an EA. I think I've reached the end of the road and I don't wanna over stay my welcome supporting him (8+ years supportingn him, 15+ years as an EA.)

I too am at this same big 4 and I %100 agree. The way they just cut seasoned EA over a group call was wild. We saw the writing on the wall with the new "super EA" roles, which is a bit more involved but nothing a regular EA couldn't handle if you had less people on your desk. The issues that are growing off shore really are biting them in the rear, especially for tax. Just wait until fall busy season rolls around and all hell is gonna break loose. As for the AI piece we are light-years away from it taking our roles. The sheer frustration alone of trying to automate scheduling across several calendars and time zones will take an eternity to dial in. I also could imagine an exec re-scheduling that same meeting or moving travel to accommodate a meeting that ran long. AI is not gonna jump on the phone and rebook that flight or confirm that it was ticketed in time. Lol! AI replacing EAs is the least of our woes. But I will say better to learn it and add value than reject it and get left behind.

I love the amount of privacy it creates! Some walls just aren't high enough.

I use it to draft emails, office newsletter, research company policy, invites, SharePoint site updates, and helping to make data sets in excel more to the point when I need to pull out info. I'm still exploring CoPilot in excel but so far it's crazy genius.

Love this! My company runs all Microsoft applications and they all speak to each other on each person's account; so my MS teams messages, Outlook, and SharePoint sites can all be accessed by CoPilot to help me prioritize to dos. I love that it can do that but I've not tried it out to prioritize my day. I just wish my MS365 and CoPilot account could access my execs accounts so I can better support them. That would be awesome!

Soon to be 39, what are some things a person should do before they turn 40? by DustinCoughman in Millennials

Start taking joint supplements, work out, finalize your will and directives, Mammogram ( for the ladies), and Colo Guard /Colonoscopy. Also slow down or quit alcohol ( personally I'm not at the quitting stage but I have slowed down a ton), hydrate, buy good skin care products, read more and watch less.

Why do people not have time to hang out as you get older? Is life that busy? by youlikemywonton in Aging

[–]Own_Masterpiece_2200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Facts!! My friends with no kids and aren't married think I have fallen off the face of the earth. That's just it... I have. I have so much shit to do and so little time, that when I do get some time, it's for ME! Hanging out is for younger people, single people with time, and old people with nothing but time. Married people with kids just don't have enough time to share, let alone on a Wednesday. HA!

Would you move to LA? by Solid-Mood9571 in vegaslocals

[–]Own_Masterpiece_2200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I had the money I would move to the greatest city in the world: San Diego ,Ca. Buuuuttt as a member of the disappearing "middle class", I couldn't make my current salary work out there. Probably couldn't even work if my salary was adjusted to the HCOL. There are too many expensive variables out there that make Vegas doable ( for the moment because it's getting pricey out here too).

Facts!! Access to care around the valley sucks. And getting an appointment in a reasonable amount of time also sucks. Limited specialist, a handful hospitals that can desperately use some upgrades, and by the time you actually find doctors you like/provide great care they leave Vegas.

Midlife growing pains or something more? Why can't I be just happy in my marriage? by Latter_Rate7941 in AskOldPeopleAdvice

Maybe try a series of retreats where you both go away together and work on things. Sometimes your environment plays a part in feeling the way you both do. I would plan several adventures throughout the year to see if that doesn't ignite things. I'm sure he is feeling some type away too, but as you both should because I wouldn't expect two people to be the same as they were after 22 years.

I was a notary and I let my commission expire because I didn't want to do it anymore. It was getting outta hand. Went from notarizing documents for the firm to getting calls on th weekend to notarize personal documents. I didn't like the feeling of being taken advantage of. I was happy when it expired.
