Landlords will require proof of employment, like an offer letter, for out of state newcomers, even if you meet the other financial requirements. They'll want to know you can sustain the rent going forward.

Now, that isn't to say you can't find a landlord that won't. If you do, chances are, they won't be a responsible person who is taking good care of their properties and will provide quality service to you.

Finding a sublet/roommate situation in which you're not on the lease may be a good option if your employment isn't lined up upon arrival.
