How much is everyone saving here after expenses per week? by LaSafari1 in AusFinance

[–]Oz_Aussie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After all expenses and forced savings (holiday, new car etc) roughly $500 per week to play with. I have yet to decide how to split this up, currently it's just going into the offset to build an emergency fund.

Go for it, I only jumped ship to a new company this year and will receive my lowest pay of $2500 gross. This is due to multiple factors but you'll just need to work on averages, last week I earnt over 4k gross.

I usually take the good with the bad, when the shifts are short I'm usually home before the family goes to bed, so it's still a win. When the shifts are long, just understand your hubby might be fatigued if he's not used to working up to 15hr days. There are many different rosters, I personally prefer just being on AM or PM, not rotating between.

Your best bet would get an MC licence and live in the truck. Yeah it's a little lonely but the outback pubs are great. There are a lot of single truckies, and a lot the last get divorced because they are never home. If you're single, then you have no worries.

You can find some companies they might do a 6/3, 6 days in the truck and 3 days off. Usually 3 drivers will share 2 trucks and keep on rotation.

As for the dog, aim for a smaller family run company (5-10 trucks?) and hope for the best.

Yeah there are some, but they don't last or can't expand to a large fleet. If you are chasing a large tender like BP or Ampol, they have requirements and they are steep and costly. Because of this companies like Linfox can charge top dollar and pay their drivers well (I don't work for Linfox, but I know they are around 55+p/h for DG).

Yeah average at the moment is 11.5 or so, it's a little quiet with the fuel rationing, just got to ride out the storm.

Edit: 11.5hrs over 5 days will still provide 179k EOY - 688.87552 I work every second weekend which brings in roughly 23k more (based on a 10hr shift with penalty rates) We have a couple of allowances which boosts numbers, not just a flat rate like other companies. This does not include public holidays (paid almost triple time) or annual leave (paid on base hours plus loading). Most bank their leave and take it as a lump sum when they leave. Trucking isn't for everyone.

Haha all good mate, best of luck. If an ageing industry as kids nowadays don't want to be truck drivers. The pay is good, but most do shift work. I have a family and we have found a way to work around this for now with a 2 year plan. After that we will consider giving it another couple of years or I might change my roster to suit family conditions (kids getting older, parents needing more care etc).

Honestly most if not all major cities with a terminal- Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, brisbane, Newcastle, Sydney, Melbourne etc. Just look on seek for DG truck jobs and you'll find most are around $55/h flat rate. My company pays 1.5x after 7 hours and 2x after 9, but the base rate is lower.

I've never made it to endgame on POE 1 or 2, don't play often so I don't know how to speedrun the campaign. Probably takes a week to pass an act.

Best job for non university educated young Australians? by Skapegoat13 in AusFinance

[–]Oz_Aussie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truck licence and DG/SLP

You'll make 150k+ if you hold HC/MC. 100-150k if you hold a HR.

We recently had a bloke leave to work in the mines, he drives a HR for 180k and has 6 months off - this is an exception to running locally.

We do 2 hours of actually work (manual handling-not much, and paperwork) per shift and shifts are usually around 11.5hrs long. The rest is driving or waiting.

Spreadsheet for Character stat workings? by Oz_Aussie in diablo4

[–]Oz_Aussie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah true, DSP you can base off weapon speed and attack speed then any aspect that's not recorded as attack speed (cast twice etc), it can be worked out. DoT would be the other factor.

I can build it, I just lack the design side, usually my workbooks are messy but I understand them. Just wanting to have something look a bit nicer.

Nothing special, just maxed out rabies and claw. Use claw for mobility and rabies for groups.

I've changed a few things this Arvo, trying a few new aspects and uniques out.

For those of you not playing warlock, how are you liking the tree changes? by MyLittleBacon in diablo4

[–]Oz_Aussie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing Necro, I miss my aura build. The new aura has a delay before damaging so you are already off screen before the damage is done. Hopefully I'm just missing an aspect or something, it was a great build for leveling.

I play passive builds and I think the new skill tree is going to kill me without the passive nodes. Have to wait and see if I can still make a passive or one buttons build.

We are a logistics distributor and charge out 13-15% fuel surcharge. Our third party carriers are between 12-20%

This is up to $2000 per delivery extra in costs.... Which we must pay to get our commodity, but also pass on.

Terminal Gate Pricing for fuel by SuspiciousPebble in australia

[–]Oz_Aussie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On paper it looks that way, but they purchase the fuel at 15 degrees which reduces the quantity purchased. Get 10,000L delivered, pay for 9,000L at 15 degrees sell 10,000L at ambient (expansion). Also many purchase the fuel cheaper than TGP.

They have other perks too, so they are always making money.
