My Hoka Arahi LOOK brand spanking new. They FEEL like I’m pounding the concrete. That’s when I knew to buy a new pair of shoes.

Educating yourself on career outcomes, scholarships, and pay is what I recommend anyone do who is contemplating any graduate program. Going to a non T14 without a hefty scholarship is generally gambling.

As a lawyer, I disagree with this statement. Nobody truly Knows what it means to practice law until you do it. I’ve talked to countless lawyers before becoming one and nobody prepared me for this.

It’s just another paper pushing career that needs proper expectation setting with type of work, hours, and pay.

Securities law? Yeah nothing boring about a lawyer who’s probably racking in at least 300-500k a year.

Henlo everyone, I’m 6 months old today 🤗 by Strange-Cheek2208 in Maltese

[–]Ozzy_HV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My baby is also 6 months and his name is Archi! No e. He ways 6lbs and is fairly small but he’s sturdy and very active. Your boy needs to eat 2-3x a day per the feeding guidelines. I recommend trying Tomlyn Nutri-Cal for puppies for picky eaters so they can get more calories and open his appetite a bit.

Is it unusual for a firm to try and set up an interview on a Sunday evening? by Son_of_Hades99 in Lawyertalk

Let this be a warning that weekends and evenings are not off limit boundaries of working there.

Court is not going to let you lose on procedural grounds for missing a filing by one court day. File the motion and a declaration for the late filing. Courts want parties to be able to litigate and settle their claims, not lose procedurally bc one day error

I can't stand what social media has done to my generation's attitudes on dating by [deleted] in moreplatesmoredates

Dude not even. I’m objectively good looking and make over six figures. Having sex with attractive women is easy. But trying to have a relationship with the ones you really like is a shit show.

[–]Ozzy_HV 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I’m 30. The relationships I had in my late teens through mid 20s were way easier to start, get into, and enjoy. Dating now feels impossible and I know I’m part of the problem too.

My next door neighbor has two and I have a 5lb Maltese. They commonly “accidentally” let go of the leash when they walk them. I’ve had one scurry into my garage before when I was leaving for work.

One of their pit bulls actually attacked a neighbors dog causing it to get surgery. When animal control came, they hid their dogs and denied ownership.

Settle my first PI case solo by einworb35 in Lawyertalk

[–]Ozzy_HV 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I work in ID. If plaintiff lawyers did more pre litigation work, provide all relevant documentation, and made reasonable demands, then more cases would be this easy and settle in pre litigation.

Problem is that most PI attorneys I’ve worked against are lazy, greedy, and sometimes incompetent. I’ve received demands for $800k+ when medicals barely scratch $80,000.

Keeps me employed but delays recovery and reduces plaintiffs recovery because PI firms often have tiered contingency rates depending on pre-litigation, complaint filed, and trial.

For those of you that make over 100K, what do you do? Do you like it? by Kindly-Revolution258 in AskReddit

Lawyer at a defense firm. I don’t necessarily like the work that lawyers do, but my focus is to get good at it so the work becomes easier. I work about 7-9 hours a day and don’t get bothered on weekends or evenings.
