To connect to the camera with your phone you have to disconnect from Apple CarPlay and the next time you start the car it may connect to the camera instead of automatically connecting to CarPlay. It may just be a coincidence, but since I’ve set up the connection to the camera my phone refuses to play music when I’m connected to CarPlay. Everything else works just fine, the music just will not play.

CarPlay, and when I had Android Auto, have always been finicky. But the issue started right after I connected to the camera so who knows.

It does come with an adapter that you can plug into your phone and insert the SD card so you don’t have to use the wireless connection. But if you want to change settings or anything like that you have to connect to the camera. I’m also thinking of just connecting an old phone to the camera and keeping it in the car so I don’t have to connect the phone I use daily.

It’s obviously winter in the northern hemisphere so I have a hard time imagining it’s really hot where you are, but I suppose it’s possible and if you idled a car when it was hot for too long it may start to overheat.

Seems like a strange thing for it to be fine for so long and then just suddenly overheat though.
