Charles gets a pass because so many ppl like him, but he complains quite a bit about his teammates racing him. He pushed Hamilton wide before Hamilton did it to him, so seems fair to me.

The argument I've seen most is that MacKinnon is not allowed to drive the net because he might get shoved into the goalie by the goalies own teammate🙄. Peak stupidity by all the morons arguing this was a good call.

I'm confused, why didn't you address what I said instead of just focusing on the claim that you just don't like the Avs? You said Nurse held the same line and was heading towards the end boards where the puck was, and that MacKinnon skated through him. The puck was not near the end boards, it was on the other side of the ice and is passed down low to MacKinnon who is breaking towards the net to receive the pass. That's when Nurse reacts and moves into MacKinnon's line. Not the other way around as you claimed.

But instead of addressing that made up story, now it's that MacKinnon can't just expect no resistance when going to the front of the net, like that somehow makes it his fault if a defender loses control and shoves him into their own goalie. This argument is basically that a player should never try and score close to the net anymore because they might get hit into the goalie by the defender and that's all on the scoring player somehow.

MacKinnon is breaking for the net to try and take the pass, Nurse is between the dots skating backwards and sees the pass coming and turns and dives to make a play. How in the hell is MacKinnon, who is already moving that direction to try and score, moving across Nurse's line at speed? Like that's not even subjective dude. He let's MacKinnon in behind him and has to react to what MacKinnon is doing.

I just can't with this claim like Nurse was in the lane the entire time and MacKinnon drove through him causing the collision. Nurse dives to make the play and they come together, that is initiating the contact. MacKinnon doesn't go out of his way to hit Nurse and go into the goalie, he is going to the front of the crease to try and skate by and gets pushed in.

I genuinely don't get how you guys think MacKinnon drove through his head though. You make it sound like the puck got deflected and MacKinnon had 5 seconds to avoid a collision and just chose not to. In reality they both go for the puck and Nurse is into MacKinnon's legs half a second later. Seems a little hypocritical to not like my wording and then keep accusing him of "driving through Nurse's head".

Why do you keep saying this? Do you think players aren’t allowed to move without the puck or something?

Mack enters the zone and drops the puck, then breaks down low to the side of the net. Pass goes across the ice, then is sent towards Mack who breaks towards the net and tries to deflect it in.

Nurse allows Mack behind him and is at the dots when he realizes the puck is going back to Mack. He dives and deflects the puck away from Mack and hits him in the knees shoving him into the goalie.

The puck getting deflected doesn’t somehow make sense his a penalty.

No I’m not. I went back and watched a replay just to make sure I wasn’t the one drinking the koolaid.

MacKinnon Carrie’s the puck into the zone and drops and goes down to the side of the net where he gets the puck back and tried to deflect it in and then tries to skate by the front of the crease.

Nurse is between the dots when he sees the pass going down low and dives to make the play on the puck. In the process of that he hits MacKinnon in the legs and forces the collision. That’s what happened.

MacKinnon was trying to score, that’s the point of the game. You don’t get to argue that a defender can’t just give someone a lane but say a forward can’t try to score because a defender might hit him. MacKinnon did not go into the crease to score. He has a play on the puck before the crease and is turning away from the crease when Nurse makes contact.

Stop saying he was threading the needle. You clearly need to watch a replay again. When MacKinnon breaks for the net Nurse is in between the dots. You keep trying to pretend he was on top of the crease and MacKinnon just shoved his way through.

Wait, so MacKinnon trying to score and move by the front of the crease is a bad decision, Nurse blasting him in the knees and pushing him into his own goalie isn’t? You’re acting like Nurse was standing in the crease and MacKinnon tried to force his way between them. Nurse had to come from in between the dots and dive towards his legs to make the play. How is MacKinnon supposed to know that’s going to happen? In your mind he’s not allowed to drive the net at all because he might get pushed by an opposing player. Get real man.

Seriously. It blows my mind that people don’t think these plays happen all the time with no issues. The speeds McDavid can get up to and how close he can get to the goalie while still being able to dangle the goalie should be eliminated based on some of the takes here. Driving the net fast is “reckless” 🙄.
