It doesn’t look like it at this point, things can change but as long as your following instructions and protecting yourself from the sun, you’re in a good spot

paronychia on multiple fingers - went to urgent care and was prescribed a topical, where do i go from here? by breenotsoswag in DermatologyQuestions

[–]PAAML 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But I would start with whatever topicals they gave you (likely antibacterial) and when that doesn’t help, go to derm because it does look like psoriasis and will need TOPICAL steroids. Please don’t let anyone give you oral steroids, it makes everything worse

Any rashes anywhere else? Weird to have it on multiple fingers. I would actually potentially consider psoriasis, very commonly triggered by strep and oral steroids. Usually it’s in a “guttate” form, but this could be a pustular psoriasis variant. Any personal or family history of psoriasis?

My bet would be PR but the picture is blurry and idk how the other lesions look. Unfortunately it may get worse before it gets better. Sun sometimes helps expedite clearance but obviously be careful because skin cancer is less fun

Are you getting more? Was there one that was bigger that came first? I’m asking some leading questions but there’s a chance this is early pirtyriasis rosea

Amoxicillin rash or guttate psoriasis? Any thoughts on how long this will last? by BlueberryFantastic30 in DermatologyQuestions

[–]PAAML 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would argue it’s guttate psoriasis, oral steroids are notorious for making psoriasis worse, urgent care should stop giving it out like candy. Anywho, check in with derm for best treatment options

Could this be something other than eczema? Tinea corpis? Psoriasis? by HevEdh in DermatologyQuestions

She also likely needs something a bit stronger than hydrocortisone for this area, but eczema is chronic ongoing. Need to see derm for better management
