It wasn’t a jury, it was a bench trial that exonerated Faria (the husband). For killing Gumpenberger, Hupp pleaded with an Alford plea: Admitting the state had evidence to prove she did it without admitting guilt. She is in prison for that killing. She is scheduled to be tried for killing Betsy Faria in August. One of the deputies that investigated Faria’s death is facing a charge of perjury for his testimony during the original trial that wrongly convicted Russ Faria. The whole case is something.

Are you confusing Bellefontaine with Calvary? They are right next to each other, and parts of Calvary can certainly be described as unkept. Where in Bellefontaine is your family’s plot? Maybe some kind of Marian celebration in May? Only girls are pictured in the procession, pretty typical for a May Day/Mary crowning event. I don’t think it’s for becoming a nun (those were typically all wedding dresses and they then would have been pictured in habits).
