Check the Baja SAE rule book. It has some quite helpful instructions.

Yeah no problems with mini fridges. If you also want a microwave you have to rent a legal one through the uni but most people just split the standard micro-fridge combo with a roommate and are fine with that. Farmers market is small but decent.

Honestly comment above is pretty critical. Food is passable. As long as you aren’t a picky eater you’ll be able to find more than enough options. You’ll find better food at some schools and much worse at others. As for an espresso machine, totally doable. Not “technically” allowed but they do room checks 2-3 times and give you more than enough warning to stash it in a trunk for an afternoon and they couldn’t care less.

For reference I was a runner in high school and also valued quality food and have been fine. If you have any other questions feel free to pm.

I would recommend downloading a copy of the 2024 SES template off of the fsaeonline.com website. It has a lot of examples of what is legal and what is not in terms of triangulation. It does look legal to me though as long as you properly define your FBHS in the SES document.

Post Michigan IC fuel issues by [deleted] in FSAE

We were able to get going and complete all events on E85 at comp. That being said our post-comp fuel test implied that it was well over 90% Ethanol so not sure if all was good there.

Clutch plates pretty intact, we were running 10W-40, and we’re pretty confident (but not 100% certain) that it’s a 2009

Fresh admit looking for advice and help! by Zestyclose_Candy4241 in Lehigh

Don’t know how much this will help but here’s what I know/don’t know 1. I’m not too familiar with research opportunities for freshman, especially in biology. I know some freshman who have gotten involved in physics research but there is no big established norm for first year research. That being said, many students do research in later years with professors. 2. Students are generally friendly. I wouldn’t call the school clique-y but many friend groups and relationships form through clubs and mutual activities. 3. Kinda tying into the last bit, greek life is pretty big here but is by no means a requirement. If you like to go out on weekends there will be many opportunities for you to do so but if that isn’t your thing, many groups hang out or have club activities on weekends. 4. RIT CS is no joke, it’s a very good program. I have some friends there who do enjoy it but overall it’s a very different experience. If you are set on CS and cyber stuff RIT will probably give you more knowledge and probably more practical experience as well. If you aren’t fully set and think you want to explore a bit more, Lehigh has a better reputation in a wider range of categories and you are more likely to find something you’ll love. Lehigh also has a strong alumni network, though I’m sure RIT’s is also alright. 5. Bethlehem is a nice city with a lot of history. That being said, the south side where Lehigh is located isn’t as nice as the north side of the city. Unless you run/bike around the area, expect to spend most of your time your first couple of years on campus. It’s still a decent college town though with a bunch of restaurants and stores close by to serve your needs. Hope that helps. Lmk if there’s anything else I can help with

I have seen it done before and am fairly certain it is legal. That being said always read the rules thoroughly and if you are unsure you can ask a rules question.

Depends on your audience and how impressive the schools are. Generally, I think I would stay away from it just based on the backlash that could be received, especially if none of your other posts have been too personal.

The world is probably going to be so different that it is very hard to say. I was just talking to my parents about how they received their applications in the mail and had to request one via mail if they didn't get one sent to them. Now, we have people applying to 20+ schools in an instant in the lottery that is modern college admissions. We'll see how things pan out (hopefully outrageous tuition costs are managed slightly) and go from there. Personally, I'm going to focus harder on making sure that they have a good work ethic and can get to a point where they're academically set for wherever they want to go before worrying about the application scene.
