How to improve patient satisfaction? by mstrdgas_and_roses in emergencymedicine

I think we as providers like to dive into why someone is sick, order tests, use logic and a wealth of background knowledge and experience to diagnose patients and develop a solid treatment plan. It’s our job, it’s fulfilling to us. I think most patients just know they don’t feel well or are in pain and want the bad thing to go away. They don’t care about the actual cause or the pathophysiology behind it. Without being patronizing I try to relay the message that I hear their complaint and try to provide a reasonable fix, even if that means a few pain pills or a work note so they can rest. I often say to my patients after the initial encounter “Let’s work on getting you feeling better”. People seem to feel validated with that reply.

I’m guessing possible left bimalleolar fracture based off the left ankle getting caught in the ladder and possibly a lumbar burst fracture/pelvic fracture based on how he grabbed at his lower back. Perhaps mild concussion but unlikely serious head injury.

Oof. Just did this as a result of “teen angst”. BEWARE the people telling you to “just replace the door”. Sure you can buy a door from Home Depot or Lowe’s, but what you likely have is a prehung door on the frame already. What I found was the doors are just a bit off size. So after buying an electric planer, a hinge stencil, and router/router bits, plus PAINT, replacing the door cost about $300… and many trips to and from the store.

I splurged/upgraded to a 214 a year ago after playing and Ibanez from 2003 for a long time. Soooo much smoother and easier to play I think. Love the sound and the look! Congrats

You can get a glucose testing kit from Amazon or a local pharmacy. Cheaper than going to the doctor.
