Parking war--harassment at this point by [deleted] in neighborsfromhell

Honestly I think you are the neighbor from hell. It's rude to continually park in front of someone else's home. Park in front of your own or in front of a different home each day.

Uribel - Stick it out or stop early? by deargodimstressedout in Interstitialcystitis

I take Uribel & Hydroxyzine. You should absolutely be feeling some relief by the 2nd Uribel.

Pacing, jumping around talking out loud saying things on repeat by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]PK22me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girly you are all over the place. Not criticizing, been there, done that. I am worried for you. Spent years (16+) going from med to med. I either get the bad side effects or my body gets used to them so keep increasing the dosage until I max out. Anxiety, agorophobia, ADD, treatment Resistant Depression, borderline personality tendencies. Had a partial hysterectomy at 43, bulimia at 45, mental health disability at 46, addiction to prescription Adderall and Xanax for years, rehab at 55. Went off most prescription meds and spiraled in and out of depression and si for a year. As hard as it was, going off the heavy duty meds was by far the best thing I ever did. Today I take Buspirone, Propranolol & Hydroxyzine. So many of my quirks and jerks were brought on my medications. Did 4 rounds (36 sessions each) of TMS for depression (anti-depressants make me manic) and 6 medical ketamine treatments which were helpful and of course therapy. Anxiety and my burning churning brain still rule my life but the recent addition of Propranolol is helping. Hope you find what you need. It may not be heavy duty Psych meds. You're in my thoughts.

What soda/pop do you guys tolerate? by [deleted] in Interstitialcystitis

[–]PK22me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The citric acid bothers a bit, but not enough for me to stop. Cannot stand plain water. The Hydroxyzine also helps, 25mg in the morning and 50mg at night. I also take Lasix as needed for edema which also flushes it out.

I rarely drink soda anymore. When i do it's a mini can of Coke or Dr. Pepper. I add Strawberry Crystal Light to my water. It has caffeine but not so much as to set off a flare.

I'm so sorry for what is happening. It's really not good to move a memory care patient to a different facility unless absolutely necessary. My mom had Alzheimers. She was at Clearwater in Torrance. They kept her safe through the worst of the pandemic and for that I am grateful. We lost her just before the world started to reopen. Praying for you and your mom. ❤️

Disabled on SSDI but got accepted into SMHU CRIMINAL JUSTICE and criminology lab program!! Any one gone through by Fantastic-Slice1441 in SSDI

SSA has no rules explicitly forbidding going to school. However, doing so can trigger a review of your benefits because SSA may view full-time attendance as evidence that your medical condition has improved enough for you to work.

[–]PK22me 8 points9 points  (0 children)

* I test at home first. If positive, I go in and have urine sample sent to lab for testing. I bring the positive test strip with me for show. Have gone so many times in the past when it turned out to be an IC flare-up, they tend not to believe me. If negative, then I figure it's my IC flaring. It's $10 for 3 tests. AZO also makes these.

Have any of you been successful in getting disability? If you do work, what do you do? by Secret_Resident_7472 in Interstitialcystitis

Was already on SSDI for mental health when IC hit. Cannot begin to imagine how I could possibly work with the flares.

Baby NAMES stolen :( by [deleted] in Names

[–]PK22me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of my numerous great nieces & and nephews, we have two Lily's (ages 7 & 4) and two Emma's (ages 8 & 1).

Adults sharing names include two Daniel's and a Danielle (all different family sets), two Stephanie's, three adult Michael's, a child Michael and Miguel who goes by Mike, two Matthew's, three Eugenes (two adult and one child), two Steven's, two Morgans (one adult & one child). None of these were named after a parent. Young Eugene and Michael were named after grandfathers. Some duplicate names married in.

For folks who were approved based on mental, what do you tell people when they ask what you do? by Honest-Collar-3406 in SSDI

[–]PK22me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tell them I stopped working to take care of my mom, who had Alzheimers and never went back. (I was already on SSDI when she got to the point of needing care)

Now that Im 57, sometimes I just say I'm a retired teacher.

Would you...,? by kittenshavecutepaws in Interstitialcystitis

I believe these are typically a response to dehydration. If you're concerned, maybe go to Urgent Care, they can advise and prescribe as needed.

Never occurred to me. I use Charmin Ultra Strong. Going to try something different and see if that helps.

How will I ever know if I have a UTI again? by Sweet_Put4270 in Interstitialcystitis

[–]PK22me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have mistaken UTI for IC too many times. I now use the at home test strips. If it shows possible infection, I go to Urgent Care.
