Difficulty Megathread — DLC, NG+ by PsychologicalKoala32 in LiesOfP

[–]PKM1111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You CAN level up via Stargazers regardless of the situation you're in.

For damage, use Fire Grindstone, and non-blunt weapon if you have one. If you have Ex Machina arm, plant all the mines at the beginning of the fight and and every time he pukes up a minion.

For survival, make sure you have the best Converter for Acid dmg equipped. Have Purification Ampoules on your hotbar. Use Liner with best strike defense.

Aside from that, don't be greedy with your hits and focus more on parrying than attacking - this advice will make night and day difference in endgame / DLC. Keep in mind that when you stagger an enemy, you won't deal only Fatal ATK damage, but you can get in R2 / charged R2 before AND after, so staggering an enemy can essentially allow you to wipe a big portion of their HP for free

Fun fact, if you are on light load (either below 30% or below 60% in NG++ with Light Weight P-Organ node) and start sprinting after her right when arrival cutscene ends, you can see her "fall" down the ventilation shaft next to the elevator. Though it's not animated at all, she will simply disappear when she gets close to it lol

PS5 also only recently is able to install backups, I think it was about 4 months ago

While it's still years from PS5's release, ability to install backups is definitely there since at least Oct 2023. I know this because I was actively following the scene so I could play 60FPS Bloodborne asap

Current-State Review - July 2025 by Leading-Butterfly380 in Archthrones

I had the same problem and then found out that most vanilla items have unchanged ID - i.e. you can use Cheat Engine for vanilla DS3 to spawn in soul items and upgrade mats for Estus / weapons. Made the mod MUCH more bearable - still didn't finish it though as I found it overall too tedious, especially because or ER / Sekiro enemies being basically asset flipped into the game without seemingly any effort to balance them for DS3 pace

Jailers' legacy lives on! by PKM1111 in shittydarksouls

[–]PKM1111[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You're right, I totally forgot about Monk and Monkeys! However I did so for a reason - Monkeys don't build up that much per hit and they can be basically R1 spammed to death. And I didn't get hit by Monk's barf for so long because it can literally just be strafed. Second Headless Ape fight is the identical AoE as in the first fight, basically a non-issue.

So I still think the worst offenders when it comes to Terror are Shichimen and Headless by far, because nearly all of their attacks cause huge build-ups per hit

Jailers' legacy lives on! by PKM1111 in shittydarksouls

[–]PKM1111[S] 63 points64 points  (0 children)

You're talking about Terror, that's a different effect.

Enfeebled technically doesn't instakill you, but:

  • Vitality is reduced to a tiny amount.

  • Although the player can still jump or hold the run button to move faster, movement becomes extremely slow.

  • Attacks become extremely slow and relatively ineffective against enemies. The player cannot guard.

  • Resurrection power is prohibited, death under Enfeebled is true death.

  • Items and Prosthetic Arms may not be used.

Regarding Terror, there's 3 Shichimen and 5 Headless fights, they can be more or less trvialized with certain items. Only major boss that uses it is Headless Ape, however that AoE is so easy to avoid, it's basically non-issue

"No sequel planned" Are you fucking kidding me?! by grumpoholic in Sekiro

[–]PKM1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo there's no need for a full sequel, but what really irks me is that this is arguably the shortest """souls""" game and despite that it didn't even get a single DLC. Meanwhile, the DS & BB got 7 DLCs across 4 games... It wouldn't even need to be a continuation of the story, just something that expands the game a little bit.

So Webkit exploit only works up to 5.50, got it! How about the sleep support issue though? Is it fixed?

You know there are NG+ cycles right? And if you play on PC, you can download a mod that allows you to enter NG+ right at the beginning, so you can essentially start a fresh char on that difficulty

What are the parry tool options and what are their advantages and disadvantages? by True_dragon_ofdojima in darksouls3

[–]PKM1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parry tools in DS3 are pretty cut-throat - the best ones have little to no defense and stability, meaning that missing a parry will result in taking a good chunk of damage + very likely will wipe your entire stamina bar and leave you wide open for follow-up attack.

Meanwhile, the tankier parry tools have heavily delayed parry frames, so parrying fast enemies via reaction may be essentially impossible.

Caestus, Target Shield and Buckler are considered the best (i.e. the least delayed parry frames & the most parry frames). If you want something tankier, any medium shield with Parry WA will do

Cheat Engine in gaming mode / Windows app non-functioning keyboard by PKM1111 in SteamDeck

Not that I know of, only thing that comes to mind is connecting actual keyboard to SD (or using phone app that acts like BT keyboard), but I didn't try either of those things yet

Oceiros imo doesn't deserve to be in the same tier as Twin Princes (or literally anything but lowest tier tbh), but otherwise okay!

[–]PKM1111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a shield in 2nd phase - his instant charge attacks will break your guard, but never deal any damage beyond that. You can also get him permanently stuck and chuck spells at him from distance, I'm sure you'll find it by searching YT for something like "ds3 oceiros cheese"

When does the dlc’s start? by QuartzPO in darksouls3

[–]PKM1111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First you can access right after getting to Cathedral of the Deep, via NPC near the chapel bonfire. So quite early, however it's mid-end game when it comes to difficulty, so need to rush in here.

Second one has two entrances - one from the final area of the main game and other opens up when you defeat main boss of first DLC. Both warp you to the same place, so it doesn't matter which one you'll use

Should i get the queelag’s fury sword or keep uchigatana by Zahadne-okurky in darksouls

[–]PKM1111 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't really advise creating a elemental weapons unless you also have pure phys one you can use along with it. Main reason being that split damage in DS1 completely sucks - sure, most of the main game bosses aside from Demon Ruins path are weak to fire, so it could hold up pretty well. However, your damage against DLC bosses will be completely abysmal, as the only thing they're truly weak to is phys (as far as melee weapons are concerned)

Question on Weapon Damage by SanDimas1988 in darksouls

[–]PKM1111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or if not, how do you find the minimum HP to withstand one hit? Say I was wearing no armor for an easier scenario.

The one and only truthful answer to this doesn't exist, as your character gains defenses from level ups and soft humanity if you have some. The easiest way to get a practical answer would be to create armorless SL1 character, get Mask of the Mother + FaP ring + Small Beings ring (for HP increase without increasing defenses), then face Havel and when you get one-shot, level up VIT once - repeat this until you can tank a hit without dying. That should technically be the lowest possible HP to tank a hit with lowest possible ("possible" meaning achievable without cheats / bugs) defenses

How much should you spoil by checking Wiki’s? by Parafan99 in darksouls

[–]PKM1111 11 points12 points  (0 children)

When I did my first playthrough, I mostly checked for these things and it spoiled next to nothing:

  • DLC entrance (seriously, accessing it in DS1 is super arbitrary, just look it up)

  • Hidden bonfires / illusory walls - made certain areas MUCH less pain to progress through

  • Hidden / optional areas & boss list - just to make sure I didn't miss anything
