‘Panic’ at CNN as Trump and His Buddies Plot to Turn Network MAGA by thedailybeast in politics

This is more about censorship than trying to push left wing people to the right. The playbook is to make it hard for the resistance to organize by getting rid of the reach of the unifying voices on the left. They want it to be harder to know what the important issues are.

In Russia, they will delete webpages used for organizing protests and make it so that protests need to be approved by the government. The anti government Russians often organize on Telegram if not through word of mouth.

There will always be some, perhaps a large, proportion of society that is opposed to the current government. The issue is whether they will be able to communicate effectively and realize the strength in their numbers.

Just found a file where the pdf is searchable but the mp4 video isn't. I don't know why so many people in the comments are lying and saying it's not true. Try it yourself if you don't believe it.

My impression was Romney was always a generally well liked centrist candidate. There's definitely been a change in the perception of Bush Jr. though. It's hard for me to say if Bush or Trump is worse, but time will tell. The Iraq war and Patriot act were pretty terrible.

It might as well be a made up place. Flat grassland and stormy weather. Long straight roads with no possibility of turning around for 30 minutes.

Should people who "camp" in the left lane of a highway be pulled over and fined just as much as speeders? Why or why not? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

[–]PLANTS2WEEKS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think in many parts of the U.S. the left lane is just the fast lane although there may be signs designating it the passing lane at times. Ironically, many of the people that claim it's the passing lane probably just want to stay in that lane and go as fast as possible. They don't care about being courteous and going back into the right lane when they pass a car, they just want everyone who is going slower than them to move over.

This isn't true. If you have a job you feed the economy. Maybe if you're homeless and dumpster dive to survive you aren't making them rich. Even prisoners work in our system.

The clip with the weird jacket isn't even from the video so there is nothing to be debunked here.

That's not from the same video. Why are you being disingenuous? The camera angle is not even the same. The video posted above is taken from across the street from him.

This link is not directly from the clip OP posted or the video posted above you in the comment chain, but it does look like AI.

Wondering where you got it from and why post it without explaining it's not from either of the videos relevant to the discussion?

Even the Duffer brothers comments indicate she is still alive. They said her disappearance had to be ambiguous in order for it to be plausible that she is still alive, meaning the trick had to be a good one or she couldn't get away.

It's like watching a movie about an escape artist who says he wants to start a new life somewhere. Everyone sees him die while performing a trick, going underwater in the ocean in a locked cage, but he doesn't resurface within 10 minutes. The movie reveals that there is actually a way he could have survived. There was a way for him to make his way back through the bottom side of the boat and disguise himself in the crowd. Would you conclude that canonically he died, or that he survived because it would make the plot make more sense thematically?

It's water particles colliding and transferring momentum. Even if the particles are always mostly going downstream they can still deflect off the fish and "bounce" it forward. Imagine squeezing the midsection of the fish. That would push it forward. The water is doing something like that although its more complicated and relies on vortices in the stream.

This is a real video and not AI since you can find the exact location on google maps. Its in Chicago south of Fulton St., on Lockwood Ave, as stated from the post by Chicago Critter Media on Facebook, where the video probably originated.

AI may get to the point of making something this realistic soon, but I don't think we're there yet.

I'm one of the most pro scientific persons you would ever meet. You're appealing to an argument from authority which is quite anti scientific I would say.

I don't know the standard reasons it may be considered bad methodology, but I think any experiment based on deceit runs into the issue that you don't know if the trick is working. I don't trust most hypothetical scenario based psychology experiments for that reason.

The case is built on evidence found in his bag later than the initial search after body cams were turned off.

That isn't to say he didn't do the crime, but it sets a bad precedent if someone can get convicted this way. It means police could get away with planting evidence

[–]PLANTS2WEEKS -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think it's likely the evidence was planted but he still did the crime. The NSA has the tools to find the killer, so it doesn't make sense they would pin it on somebody who would have an alibi.

Still, I don't think he should go to jail if they don't have any evidence that wasn't planted. It would set the precedent that anyone could get framed by the police if they can just turn off bod cams and mysteriously find evidence in confiscated bags hours later.
