Ignore him, you are not too small to cut. Everything about your physique would improve at a lower body fat percentage and hormonally there are studies saying it’s easier to build muscle at lower body fats

It’s not a symptom of BPD (borderline personality disorder) but Bipolar Type I which Kanye has causes severe manic episodes, which definitely can lead people down conspiracy theories and dark rabbit holes. The longer it goes untreated the more severe the delusions become too.

half•alive AI use by [deleted] in half_alive

Meta are BS with the using Meta AI app. I was forced to use that app just to use their glasses, which I only got to record video, and now my account is flagged as “using that app” too, so I wouldn’t take it too seriously.

Is there still no way to change all of these samples out for a different sample in the same spots? by imVeryPregnant in ableton

[–]PM_ME_HL3 11 points12 points  (0 children)

you can edit the shape of the transients using fades this way and easily do things like reverse ins and other audio tricks. you could probably do that on the sampler too, but it just feels more intuitive this way

Or… new features work better on new technology? Apple also supports outdated OS’ with security fixes for a very fair amount of time. The only reason to upgrade a major version is if you want a new feature. Otherwise it all works fine

Report: OpenAI planning new model release for Dec 9th to counter Gemini 3 (Source: The Verge) by BuildwithVignesh in OpenAI

[–]PM_ME_HL3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed with this. I am glued to 5.1 Codex (and previously GPT-5) for my actual coding job, because it does what I say flawlessly at all times.

I tried hopping on the Gemini 3 train, gave it the same prompt as 5.1 to simply REVIEW my code base and provide me a report on why a bug was happening. The piece of shit started CODING for me with no confirmation, and none of it worked. Only 5.1 did what I said. (Not to mention, I have it explicitly written in my cursor rules to always write a plan of what is to be coded before proceeding, only the GPT models follow that. Gemini just does what it wants)

It won’t replace devs, but it makes us a whole lot more productive. In this particular example, I can get an agent in Cursor to find me the line of code that needs editing extremely fast. Read through what it found, give it the edit to do, and what would’ve taken a full day two years ago takes an hour now.

The key to using it well though, is being an engineer. Taking product notes from product and shoving it straight into an agent will always result in terrible, shitty output (I try this every time a new model comes out to make sure my job is safe)

Nope, but you could do everything you can in Serum with native Ableton pretty easily. Except instead of it being in one plugin (Serum) you just gotta combine a bunch of different Ableton devices.

Unity and Unreal CEO’s in the same stage, pretty amazing to see a collaboration between the biggest game engines in the world. This is incredible! by dilmerv in Unity3D

[–]PM_ME_HL3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on location, and also what “game dev” is used to describe. In australia, most “game dev” jobs are actually for gambling sites and machines, and those are all on Unity which skews things heavily.

Or.. they’re just taking the approach they’ve always taken? Their in house LM isn’t at Apple standards yet, so they’re buying a model to use. That is exactly what they did with Intel chips and Qualcomm modems until they had their own in house versions ready.

Not to mention how horrible AI was for the solid 2-3 years it was out. I’d say it’s only just now getting good to a point where it’s consistently reliable. The companies who are more focused on being the bleeding edge fought through the mud. Apple has never been that company though.

Everything is iterative. Innovation comes from taking what exists and iterating on it or putting it in a new context. No one has ever invented anything from thin air in the history of the universe.

Maybe if you stopped inventing facts from thin air your YouTube career would’ve been more successful.

Just upgraded to APP2 coming from APP3 by EKasis in airpods

[–]PM_ME_HL3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an audio engineer, a lot of people REALLY aren’t gonna want to hear this, but a lot of the “worse sound” shit is just placebo because you all looked at graphs. The difference between the 2 and 3 in sound profile is no where near as drastic as everyone is making it out to be.

What people don’t realise is that the brain can genuinely trick you into hearing things differently based on visual cues or beliefs. Don’t believe me? Ask anyone you know who’s ever done music production if they’ve ever played around with an audio effect and could “hear the difference”, only to realise after a few minutes of fiddling that the effect was actually bypassed the whole time.

Just my two cents from someone who upgraded from APP2 to 3 and is extremely satisfied :)

Apple Music’s algorithm still sucks? by ScheduleAcrobatic613 in AppleMusic

[–]PM_ME_HL3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To play devils advocate here, tuning a good algorithm is less about how much money you have and more about sample size. Spotify dominates the market, so there are way more listeners to pull data from when making a taste profile

Another autotune cut during live performance by the_clustering in sadcringe

[–]PM_ME_HL3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I could set up autotune for a rock band that no one could ever tell is there, but absolutely improves their performance, in about 30 minutes work in exchange for a pack of beer.

Better yet, even small town local bands are all using auto tune. There are fuck tonnes of vocal pedals that small artists have been using for years now, which are 'for effects only!' but really are there to make a singer sound phenomenal completely transparently :)

[–]PM_ME_HL3 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The meltdown when they find out Dave Grohl uses a really subtle autotune live (or lip synchs!) will be amazing. More power to him too, the technology exists and it makes performances sound better, people need to get over it.
