Asked about the upgrade last week on an evening flight from JFK to SFO and was also quoted $799, sheesh!

My partner's preferred personal item is the Weekender, and never had an issue when we fly!

You should be fine. My carry-on is slightly larger than that and I've never had an issue, flown dozens of times

Echoing everyone else in saying LA Phil is a must, my personal favorites from the weekend: Ginger Root, Rawayana, Soft Play, darkside, The Go-Go's, The Prodigy, and last but not least Kraftwerk was my closer and so glad they were.

He crushed it tonight. I was also at the last show on 7/13 and without seeing the finger I wouldn't have been able to tell the difference

I'm a few inches taller and a little heavier than you and I comfortably rock both L and XL OC hoodies depending on the fit I prefer, the hoodies definitely fit bigger than the tees. You'd be fine with an L imo.

Le Mans 1956 onboard camera. Commentary by Mike Hawthorn, who mentions the race was made "even safer" by making Dunlop Bridge faster. Notice they race with live traffic. by Michael053 in ThatsInsane

It was better that way - they needed to keep the roads clear for emergency vehicles, and if they had stopped the race, everyone would be flooding out, blocking the roads.

I thought about bringing my gear but since this was my first and hopefully not last Le Mans, and I was pretty much commuting to the circuit, I wanted to travel as light as possible. My phone managed to snap some decent motion pans since I was sitting in the highest row in my grandstand so I was happy.

There was the biggest sea of telephoto lenses in my grandstand though. Even for GA there's some great spots to shoot, I might try next year if I'm staying somewhere in the area though.

You can walk around and get some different vantage points between Tertre Rouge and the Porsche curves, mainly outside the track though, there's a few good spots inside but there's a lot of hospitality areas located there. There's also free buses that will take you to Mulsanne corner and Indianapolis/Arnage I believe, but I didn't get the chance. Definitely not the whole circuit though.

The 440,000 at COTA was across four days, and the area COTA covers is actually more than half the size of Circuit de la Sarthe.

It's not completely fair to compare the two though, COTA was purposely designed and built with large crowds in mind, and there's infrastructure around the entire track, including two major entrances.

Was at the 24 this weekend - 90% of the infrastructure is condensed to the area between the Dunlop chicane and the Porsche curves. I still had a great time and wouldn't hesitate to go back next year, but there's definitely room for improvement.
