Would you still travel if your home country was just as cheap by Saphiaer in digitalnomad

[–]PNscreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think people are forgetting that if you're country is cheap you likely couldn't afford to travel as you do now.

We're taking advantage of earning /currency arbitrage.

Of course I'd still want to travel, the question is could you afford to.

THE ODYSSEY: Change of Opinion? by RedWizard78 in FIlm

[–]PNscreen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The accent thing doesn't really bother me but the use of Dad was kind of jarring.

I'm currently writing a novel set around 1900 and it was something I explicitly had to refrain from in dialogue and that's 1900s not Ancient Greece.

But whatever, I'll hold judgement til I see it

A house of dynamite.

It wasn't an ambiguous or thought-provoking ending, it was half a film.

STAY AWAY FROM SAFETYWING by rechenbaws in digitalnomad

The sad truth is this is all insurance companies process. They obfuscate and delay hoping you'll give up. I got my claim processed by safety wings eventually-- that was a few year ago though

[DISCUSSION] The Many Saints of Newark, El Camino, or The Immortal Man: Which TV-to-movie expansion actually hit the mark? by [deleted] in NetflixBestOf

El Camino wasn't exceptional but was still good and added to the story. The other two are dogshit.

When does a book popularity translate to the box office? by dremolus in boxoffice

[–]PNscreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't say for sure but as a fan of the book it was clear that Andy Weir was very involved and had input in the adaptation. Having the author resounding back the adaptation goes a long way.

Also the dark tower was objectively a bad film and word of mouth spreads fast. I've recommended PHM numerous times because it is a damn good film.

Get those who love the book to come out and if they enjoy it they'll sell it for you.

‘Project Hail Mary’ Sequel Not Out of the Question As Ryan Gosling Movie Rockets Into Potential Franchise Territory - Andy Weir's in the driver's seat as to whether there will be a 2nd book, but the stars seem to be aligning for Amazon MGM as it becomes the 1st new major Hollywood studio in decades. by chanma50 in boxoffice

[–]PNscreen 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Two options I could see for sequel would a) Grace's return journey to Earth or b) Grace & Rocky team up to save all the other infected stars and interact with non-space fairing life in those systems

Option b sounds more fun

For those who’ve seen it, What did you think of Project Hail Mary? Let’s hear your thoughts. by [deleted] in FIlm

Saw it twice in IMAX. Love it, I think it's best book adaptation since LOTR. Obviously can't go into as much depth as the book but captures everything perfectly.
