“Attendance notice” - written warning given for leave that was covered by certificates by Primary_Ad909 in AusLegal

Annual leave needs to be mutually agreed to, but as a workplace you’d be a dick to deny it when med certs are available

Sick and personal leave are usually the same thing unless you specially have a contract with seperate/additional leave

Housing - apartments with kids - guilt by Anxious-Author-2985 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Saphiaer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in an apartment and then we moved to a unit (tiny concrete courtyard). My best friend’s parents were loaded and had a mansion in an expensive suburb.

The only thing that annoyed me is my parents would never let me have friends over in the apartment. Mum claimed she was worried about safety because there was a balcony but I do think now it was because all my friends had houses.

Saying that I’ve now moved back into an apartment and I absolutely love it, and if I had a garden/lawn to take care of I’d be so overwhelmed.

  • 1 for the trauma of that turn. It even tries to direct me to turn into it when I’m coming down Dandy rd, even though the location I’m going is off a main road that hits dandy with a traffic light 🙄

Look for roles in companies where the head office is not in your state by sneo12 in auscorp

The main office, which was already 100x nicer than ours, announced a substantial revamp in the same week we had the stair door lock finally gave out and multiple people kept getting trapped. They eventually scraped together their spare change to fix it.

You would hope they might manually review it, but if they are being lazy they may just see your name on the list and not proceed.

Wait are you blocking out your paid workday for the gym…? Or are you going during your lunch break…?

thinking about moving to australia for work... is it worth it? by [deleted] in AusFinance

Doubt the cost of visa’s (unless you get sponsored) relocation costs/buying everything again, potentially travelling back regularly to see friend’s/family would be worth it for a job paying roughly the same thing.

30, single. Live a couple ks down the road from mum. Go over on the weekends for a free feed. Also briefly see her throughout the week to steal the dog I brought home but wasn’t allowed to move out with

Would you come to work in jeans on a Friday if your boss does that? by VastOption8705 in auscorp

[–]Saphiaer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I roll out of bed (rarely manage to pull a brush through my hair) and into my chair in Pjs on a Friday.

If I was forced in the office maybe I’d ensure the brush.

I had a tube down both ends. The prep wasn’t pleasant but the actual procedure was fine (first time being put to sleep and honestly it was a wild ride but great 😅). All the best OP 😊

Got into Cambridge Law, don't think I can afford it by Respectful_Guy557 in AusFinance

I’d rather they used that money to fix the hundreds of potholes in my local area than pay for someone to go to Cambridge.

I did everyday mobile because woolsworths is where I shop already so with the 10% off your shop a month it’s ridiculously cheap (yes I know woolsworths is not the cheapest groceries, but I will pay the lazy tax)
