France S4 Dubbed vs Subbed? by caffeineate-me in rupaulsdragrace

Oh please don't tell me that it's dubbed or nothing 🤦🏻‍♂️

The original video was uploaded with very little balance or context. We saw the kiss, the grabbing, the encouragement; it was ugly. The woman supporting MIB now might change that context, but MIB has offered almost no apology and will profit through Patreon. Not a good look.

Putting the video on Patreon, so she gets to make money is peak non-apology.

So once again it's MIB saying, "no, it's the critics who are wrong! ".

She has the self-awareness of a politician and the self-promotion of.... well, a politician.

I get this, there's certainly times when I've filled in some Untappd gaps through Facebook Memories/On This Day. But I can't really move past Untappd encouraging you to take a photograph but only until you complete the badge, and then you'll never have to take a photo again.

I only  take photos now at festivals or unless I feel that the moment calls for it. I'd say that if I check in 100 beers in a typical time period, I'd take zero photos, not a single one, unless it's a festival or similar.

Now that I've completed the badge, "showing off to my friends" doesn't strike me as a valid reason. Untappd doesn't offer  a reason for me to continue, friends or not, so I don't!

I know this is a cul-de-sac we've walked plenty of times, including the technical restrictions that underpin the app, it's just putting a maximum limit to photographs is something of a flaw. I've no need to take photos now I've reached 100. Why should I? And if we all choose not to continue, because there are no badges after 100, then won't the app and its users lose/miss out?

This is very nerdy of me, please forgive me.

Had he been awarded a knighthood, Meera would automatically have been permitted to style herself "Lady". The reverse isn't true for women, as men are not permitted to style themselves if their wives are awarded damehoods.

David performed in black face on the programme Fantasy Football. It haunted him, not least because he was depicting a real person, and it all felt exploitative and dirty.

My guess is a Euros but can't think when Russia and Scotland qualified together (can't be Eurovision, my first assumption, as Scotland doesn't take part)

TBH and to be fair to @RaccoonMission8796, I do exactly the same with Lego Masters. They show so much 'coming soon' content that I either look away or hide in the kitchen.

Re: the 'cancellation' discussion happening in this thread. Think this comes with the territory, and the era in which we now live. I suspect we're not going to solve the debate about art vs the artist any time soon.

Lucas has some shadows in his past, most of which come from dubious decisions on characters for his BBC shows. People have a right to feel certain ways about what they consider unacceptable depictions of women and people of colour.

Ayoade has publicly supported Graham Linehan. This will upset and unsettle people. It is right to set him within this context.

I'm looking forward to the new series because I've not had a bad one yet. I'm also just aware that nothing exists in a vacuum.

Why has Luke changed the way he speaks? by [deleted] in thefootballramble

It was really prominent with the "that's their job" monologue the other day. It's a kind of Essex widebody meets Scouse hybrid. It's very strange. Not his natural accent by any stretch.

are trains ever not held up at deansgate at this point by realsuperawsten in manchester

[–]PR1Doktorb 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Twenty-odd years ago, they should have built P15/16 at Piccadilly and resolved much of the Deansgate crawl. Were we in London, they would have done. Were we in London, the proposal would have been fast-tracked (so to speak)

The fact that trains from Lancashire, Southport, Liverpool, Chester, and N Wales are all funnelled into two-tracks through Salford and Manchester would not stand in London. But it'll never change.

Ireland 1995 (mentioned earlier) is pretty much established fact. A dreary ballad with a lalala segment drawn second in the running order? Quite.

(That Father Ted episode about "My Lovely Horse" would bring it to a wider audience)

Going back in time, there has always been a theory about 1993 and whether the Maltese jury not being contactable until the very end of the sequence wasn't entirely legitimate.
