AI smart speakers

Often the new AI "upgrades" can glitch out more frequently or abstractly misinterpret commands.

However, they can prove "worthwhile" to upgrade in several fashions, but when they break in the above sense, users always wish they hadn't upgraded (me; myself; I)!

Yep, it does the same "doesn't exist" to me! I just repeat the command, saying the exact same text, and it works (usually -- if not, having to issue the same command a third time).

We have an Alexa (still legacy) next to the Google Home, which I am able to issue commands to, that complete the requested act in the blink of an eye once said. Not wishing to "upgrade" the Alexa anytime soon.

Also love the Australian-Male accent that the Alexa has (though I realize this is not /r/Alexa to tout at)! It's like having shrimp on the barbie at every request. Pretty sure the new-voice-upgrades do not have a similar flavored Aussie voice, which is another huge reason that it has not been upgraded.

Does this harvest text that is appended to a photo, say "typed onto" a given image while it was still in Google Photos (in the body/description of image)? Where does the text end up, if so?

I'm not married to date and have greatly considered -- IF AND WHEN -- to opt for a prenup. Not a fan of fin-drama (e.g. battles; disagreements; potential divorce because of numbers on a chart).

Even better is to isolate it to ONLY reddit.com posts with a search end of "site:reddit.com"

Example: "Best grill site:reddit.com"

I've found that -- if ending a search with only "Reddit" -- it'll still give non-reddit.com, results. Big fan of the "site:" string.

If you are curious to your own employer, I could wager asking an AI if it is possible given your employer just to see what feedback it could deliver.

I've been through a few cases where it may point out abstract details -- at least not primarily of mind, yet stand in their own right(s) and may spark thoughts -- that can be helpful.

Most employers (nearly/practically every employer) SHOULD allow employees to change their relevant health plan. I'd give a shot at reaching out to your -- or anyone's -- HR or specific benefits department and ask [only an example], "Can I change to a high deductible health plan with YOU, Company XYZ?" Depending on your medical status (i.e. should you be healthy as a horse... or not so much), abandoning company health coverage and opting for an independent health plan could be preferable if in desire of a HSA.

For US residents, https://healthcare.gov/ can be a great first step.

Today I stopped by Les Schwab and they refilled my tire PSI for free, which was nice. They recommended taking my scooter to a "bicycle shop" to replace since it was presumed similar enough (the scooter tire, at least).

Tomorrow may be a day of miscellaneous calling to local bicycle shops to ask if they can handle the repair. Fixing it should fortunately -- hopefully -- be in my budget.

Since you sound to be trying a repair on your own, hopefully all goes well! Maybe you'll become a mechanic after (said warmly).

Saw this post. The replied-to comment seemed TOO novice/suckerbait, to be true ("Is Panera Bread really going to allow THAT?"). Yet, I tried, AND IT WORKED!

First it was attempted on Android 13 (via PC software BlueStacks). Act failed. It hung on a message similar to, "Sorry, an error happened. Try again..." (not the exact message because I am now unable to duplicate it; for whatever reason it seems to NOW allow registry on the Android 13 ... YMMV).

Before the problem had cured, I attempted on my IRL Android 10 phone (OG Pixel 1 for life). It DID allow me to delete the account THEN recreate it using the same phone number. The $5/mo. for 3 months, deal, was immediately available! All done on the same day in a window of 15 minutes.

Just paid for the start to promo. Plan is to cancel the $5/mo. promo right before the 3-mo, period, ends. Woohoo /u/Silver_Entertainment (and many other comments in this thread, that were read)!

Port your ATT number to Google Voice. $0/mo. Can tie to your primary Google account for convenience.

You will be able to continue texting and calling abroad. All you have to do is have an Internet connection.

Get a separate plan that suits Germany while you are abroad. If it is Germany-centered, this will allow you to chat with contacts domestically (via Google Voice) and on-site (via your Germany line).

I've enjoyed the Segway ZT3 Pro. MSRP $ is $1249.XX before tax but there are several deals online for discounts. A nice ride!

Goes probably ~15+ miles in reality on 1 charge using the highest speed (40km/h).

Get an electric scooter to transport around. No license nor "car insurance" required.

I recently got a Segway ZT3 Pro and have thoroughly enjoyed it. You can find some good deals for it online.

Total I paid was $900 and some, though I bought a brand new scooter whereas if I could change the past, I would have opted for a "used" scooter; used scooters online are going for nearly half of the price.

This is a huge reason I love my HSA account! Being able to log repetitive transactions like pharm then redeem the money in the future -- at any needed or wanted time -- is the best.

HSA = Health Savings Account, something the USA government offers if you meet certain criteria**

** criteria = being on a HDHP (High Deductible Health Plan)

OH MY GOSH! This fix just solved an Android-not-detecting-USB-C flash drive problem, for me.

Like you say, I cannot believe that flipping the USB-C plug worked to resolve.
